In the eWeLink scheduler, there are sliders next to the schedule times. Those rows are already identified as ON and OFF. Why do I need slider switches as well?
To disable / enable the schedule easily without delete it.
Thank you. I guess I figured that out. I was wondering if, in instructing to to turn the device “ON”, you needed to slide the corresponding slider to “ON”. Which is sort of nuts. But, as you say, this switch is just to enable or disable the instruction. That’s slightly nuts as well, in that to disable the instruction, you should just erase it.

When you erase it, if you need it later, you must create it again from the beginning.
That slider is the convenient way to handle:
- I don’t need it at the moment, but I might need it later on,
- I need to disable the schedule quickly
- I want to see history of previous schedules I set
Save some minutes (or seconds) of your time. ![]()
In future may be can connect to smart scene flow so that the schedule can be enabled / disabled automatically if some condition fullfilled.
The enable / disable feature as a slider is also common in “Alarm / Scheduler” in other platform, such as Android, Amazon Alexa, etc.
I usually use it after installation, and then forget to delete it ![]()
Except if you’re using the scheduler to turn something on and off, one presumes the on/off switch is for the device, not the instruction. Wouldn’t be hard to annotate this switch constructively.
