Virtual switches on nspp

It’s a kind of request I already made many months ago.

Just like new nspp gen2 has two physical switches, why don’t you add the ability to create virtual switches inside nspp, exposed externally via mqtt/matter, in order to drive lights, doors or any kind of automations on external platform like home assistant?

I don’t think it’s a feature which requires big amount of code and needs much of device resources.

Actually a virtual switch is already present inside nspp and exposed via mqtt, it’s the smart security switch, but it’s locked until you add some kind of sensor to it, you can start by unlocking it, quick and dirty.

Isn’t it an appealing feature?

Currently, the NSPanelPro does not have this planned, but the eWeLink App has a virtual device feature. You can create virtual buttons and virtual switches (member benefit). These devices can be synced to Home Assistant or other platforms to create automations. You can try it out and see if this is what you’re looking for.

Good to know, but for a cloud solution there’s no need to use ewelink app, you can directly use native apps, such as ha companion app, I meant a local solution where you tap on a virtual button placed on a split screen or directly on home screen.

Any chances that it will placed into roadmap sooner or later?

At least unlock the security switch, it’s already there and it’s published via mqtt

This might not be prioritized for development in the near term. However, I will confirm the feasibility with the team and will keep you informed of any progress.

That’s more than enough…anyway, unlocking the security switch to be available even when there is no sensors configured it should not be this troublesome, hopefully
