TailScale - Key expired in TailScale Docker of iHost

Hi all,

I’m so new with iHost, Docker and Tailscale.

I installed Tailscale docker and connected to my Tailscale network. Everything worked fine till one day iHost appeared disconnected from Tailscale because of the tailscale certificate was expired.

I tried to connect but it didnt work, so, I decided to disable key expiring in Tailscale to allow iHost to connect again. Doing this, connection worked.

Now, I dont know how to enable the key expiring again, because everytime I do, the ihost is disconnected after 30 mins (graceful period of temporary certificate connection).

I readed here ( Key expiry · Tailscale Docs) I need to force the authentication of iHost when I have in that graceful period, but I do not know how to force this reath (I hjave tried to reboot iHost during this period, without lucky…)

Is there any way to access to the Tailscale Docker console or to access to Tailscale CLI to try to execute the command ’ tailscale up --force-reauth

Have anyone had the same issue ? Is there a way to reanable the key expiring in Tailscale and iHost connects properly to Tailscale?

Any help is welcome!

Thank in advance!

Hi,

I have been trying some different options and finally one worked.

  • Stop TailScale docker in iHost
  • Uninstall TailScale docker in iHost
  • Remove the previous existing volume TailScale
  • Create a new volumen , named TailScale
  • Install the TailScale docker
  • Run using the new volume and the variables
  • Click on the web link to authenticate on TailScale.
    • Here, a meesage is displayed saying the device is already existing one, Reautheticate button pressed, log in into TailScale and everything worked!

Hope this helps to anyone!

Thanks!

If you log into the Tailscale website you can set specific keys to not expire. The default is 90 days I think. I’ve never run into a problem with the Tailscale docker but I have it set to never expire on the iHost.
