Assuming that you need the eWeLink app to use the cloud anyway, adding the option to change the device type in eWeLink Web does not seem strictly necessary. When you change the type in the app, it also changes in the Web interface. Simply reload after such a change.
The change of type has no functional significance. It makes it easier to figure out.
mini R4 is seen as a switch even if you set it to a light bulb icon it still looks like a switch to Funke. the function of how many lights are on is then useless. I meant this device change.

yes and that is exactly the problem. changing the icon doesnât change anything and if you want to see the lights turned on in the web panel as the last update boasts, they are obviously not there and the function is incomplete. and if it is to have a future, it is necessary to be able to really determine whether it is a light or a switch so that the new function makes sense.

I think itâs easiest, I donât know if itâs best, to set up logic on the web so that all devices that are marked as Display as Light and/or that represent lighting in the application are displayed on the Smart Lights tab of the web.
I would also like to have the Smart Lights card in the app :).

For security reasons, the deviceâs reporting type cannot be changed.
It would allow me a better overview and easier management, because the grouping of devices would be done according to their purpose.
It doesnât have to mean a change of type in the true sense, but let it be possible for the devices to be configured according to what is given in âDisplay Asâ.

As far as I remember, you canât group devices according to their types in the eWeLink app/Web. It would therefore be necessary to start by adding this option in order for your original proposal to be of any use.
If you want to have it already, use the Room option. Create a dummy instance and name it Lights. Unfortunately, it is not possible to assign one device to more than one room.
Can you then explain to me the purpose of the cards on the web (marked cards)?

For me it has a minor value. Simply an informational feature. They just didnât think to include a âView Asâ option. This should be changed/improved. Report in the Ideas and suggestions section.
