Silent mode on trvzb?

I have some trvzb units. It takes around 3s for them to shut or fully open, and they do that distinctive noise while operating the valve.

Wouldn’t it be possible to make the motor run at a much slower speed to reduce the noise? I wouldn’t mind if it took 30-60s to open or shut the valve if it would be silent while operating.

I suspect their motor will be on/off/reverse but not variable speed. Depends on the motor they have inside but most cheap DC motors are single speed. Do you think 6 half second noises over a hour would be less annoying than 1 three second one.? Personally I’d like to get it over and done with.

Yeah you might be right, the device is likely limited by the hardware itself.

Well, the whole point with slower speed would be to make it silent obviously, so you would not hear it. The noise is usually masked by the ambience, but it’s annoying in bedrooms and I ask myself if I want to listen to my trvzb regulate the temperature for the next 5-10 years as I lie in my bed.

I wouldn’t mind paying more for model with an upgraded motor and also accept shorter battery life
