It is Very Important!
Lamps like BL-05 must have the ability to choose between Open, Close or Last State in Power-on State condition like all others (or most of them) devices in a new firmware update.
Until now after a power off condition the lamp turns on every time the power is back.
Thank you.
Wow! this suggestion does not deserves not even an answer?
It’s a better way to draw attention by @yitie
When or at all?
I must admit that I need this function!
Let me ask around and check if that’s a limitation of the device itself or our app.
Unfortunately, that’s a firmware limitation. The power-on state would conflict with the pairing mode detection.
It would also be great if BL05-BL could withstand temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. I once installed three such bulbs in the garden, but unfortunately none of them survived the winter. Now I have Nanoleaf bulbs in these fixtures, they are not damaged in frost, but they are much more expensive and cannot be controlled remotely via the cloud.
That sounds more like the need for outdoor lights. Looping SONOFF on this product suggestion @Daniel_Zhan
Sorry for missing this; I’ve merged it with another similar post with answers.
Sorry we missed this request, thank you Ward for take over.
Well, I’m sorry to say this, but that’s the easy way to answer and I don’t accept it. Anything is possible after a little research. Trust me, I’m an MCU developer. This issue is serious and affects thousands of users.
Double check with SONOFF team, sorry but no plan for B02, B05 bulb’s firmware upgrade.
OK! Then at least make it come in Îźff state and not Îźn like it is now after power failure which is better i think!
Such a shame for an otherwise very good product!
You can add a inching time: bulb goes off after desired time.
Please check the response above:
I see the other Ewelink zigbee bulbs have these options with a few options. I have never had any issues with them.
Unfortunately Sonoff is going to lose quite a bit of sales on customers moving to non Sonoff Ewelink alternatives that have Power-On State support.
Sonoff also needs to keep in mind that 1st most common device a customer tends to purchase is Smart wifi bulb, and that is the 1st step to introduce a customer to their ecosystem and further device purchases.
Customers are more likely to adopt a different ecosystem if their 1st smart device they want to purchase is not able to do the “basics”.
Sonoff should really reconsider finding a solution for this problem. If can not be done on firmware than Sonoff needs to consider at least developing a Zigbee bulb as alternative - since everyone is at least moving from Wifi to Zigbee.
The problem is that Zigbee “is a bigger step” for 1st purchase from a customer wanting to go smart. So you might still need a Wifi option.
Either way I moving all my future light bulb purchases to non Sonoff Ewelink Zigbee bulbs.
