I’m using an NSPanel Pro with 30+ Sonoff devices, and overall, it’s working great. As I set up more scenes, however, I’ve run into limitations with notifications that prevent me from fully realizing the system’s potential.
Currently, when configuring scenes in the eWeLink app, the only option for visual/audio alerts is the Alarm function. Unfortunately, this always produces a dismissible, non-configurable popup on the panel, which limits flexibility.
I believe many users would benefit from enhanced notification options, such as:
Audio-only notifications
Ability to play a sound without displaying anything on the panel. Example: I use two SNZB-01P devices as doorbells. Ideally, the panel would just play a chime while keeping the dashboard visible, instead of interrupting it with a popup.
Customizable visual notifications
Ability to configure the display message when a notification is triggered, and how long does it stay on the screen. Currently, the Alarm message doesn’t provide useful context (even which device triggered it). Even minimal customization, such as showing the device name or a short custom text, would make a big difference.
These improvements would make NSPanel Pro much more versatile for real-world use cases, especially for users with larger device networks.
We were busy rolling out V4.x App for NSPanel Pro. This version has been completely rewritten in Kotlin and should provide much better performance and stability.
We will work on your suggestion ASAP.
@LMX is our new product manager in charge of NSPanel Pro. He and I will keep you posted on this feature.
A great way of improving the usage of NSPanel should be to show a camera view when an action is triggered (movement detection) because a notification on the panel is not useful enough when you need a quick view
I still can’t connect to my cameras (Trendnet) with RTSP .. Their address is well recognised by VLC … Are you going to repair this compatibility issue ?
May I ask what the current version of your NSPanelPro is? The latest beta version is 4.2.2. If your version is older, please upgrade to the latest version first (using the beta application tool: NSPanel Pro Beta Testing Program).
If the issue persists in the new version, could you provide a screenshot of the specific screen display—whether it shows no video feed or an error message? Also, please submit the NSPanelPro logs and send your device ID to me separately. We will work to identify the issue as soon as possible.
Additionally, could you share the specific model of your camera?
