Is it possible pair iHost to the NS Panel Pro

I don’t know if this topic has already been opened, but I couldn’t find anything on the subject. If it already exists, I apologize.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to pair the iHost with the NS Panel PRO? Whenever I try to scan the Matter QR code in the eWeLink app, I get an error. If I do it with Apple HomeKit or SmartThings, it works without any problems.

I would prefer to keep my Zigbee network local on the iHost, but I would also like to control the devices on the NS Panel Pro.

Thank you

What error do you have when adding ihost matter bridge to nsp?
What version of the ewelink application do you have? (5.9.0)
what version of nspanel pro? (3.3.0)

I’m sorry for the missing information.
When I said the “error” is not an error, sorry. Is the general message of “no device found”.
The ewelink version is 5.8.0 the lateast for IOS.
The NS Panel Pro has the 3.2.0 (I notice now that for some reason I don´t have the 3.3.0 for update) :scream:

If possible, place an nspanel next to the router. Wi-Fi signal should be 100%.
set the screen saver for 15 seconds.
go to (settings / about the program).
when the screen goes off, touch it. repeat this process 3 times.
If the CPU bar increases and decreases, it means that nspanel is checking for updates.
If the update does not appear after these steps, please contact support.

Nope, didn’t work :grimacing:
I just send a ticket for support.
Thanks

I believe that NS Pro does not support the iHost Matter Bridge.

I believe that this is blocked for now.

If this were supported I would probably buy one to use the cloud whenever I wanted.

Short answer - We didn’t block it.

eWeLink Matter does not limit specific devices; if we support a new device type - in this case, Matter Bridge - all Matter Bridge obeying specs should work.

However, Matter itself is not that mature, and it has strict requirements for network setup. Things could be messy sometimes.

We also have a series of guides about Matter on the eWeLink app (Message tab) and website. And I’m writing more when I reply to this topic

Thx for the feedback. Let’s meet at the support deck!

So in theory we could connect the iHost bridge to NS Pro?

Sure, but you may need to consider if you need this.

Let’s say, you chose iHost for local control and now bring it back to eWeLink Cloud - in this case, ZBBridge -U would be a better option, with native cloud features and Matter support.

I agree. I don’t know about the compatibility issue with third-party ZigBee devices on ZB-U. But it’s nice to know that it would be possible to add devices to the cloud again if you want.
It’s an interesting way to put third-party devices on the eWelink cloud.

The cool thing is that it gives the customer several options.

I would go with ZB-U if all my ZigBee devices were Sonoff.

I agree that iHost is totally local focused.

However, it’s interesting to be able to put the devices on the eWelink cloud!

Here’s a list maintained by SONOFF

Personally, I find the list of supported items too small for this device.

As I said I totally understand the scenario you mentioned.

I think the possibility of a scenario with iHost in the middle is cool.

Adds more value to the product.

Thank you for the clarification. I have the three products: NS Panel Pro, Bridge-U, and iHost. All of them are excellent, but I must say that the iHost is the one that comes closest to being ideal for me.
The fact that it is local is excellent, but the lack of a mobile app makes the usability less than optimal. I understand that the idea behind iHost is to be local and managed on a computer, but nowadays, being able to manage it on a mobile device should be considered a priority (and yes, I know this topic has already been discussed :grinning: ).
Another great thing that iHost has and others not is the fact to pair with 3rd parties.
I always wonder if ihost zigbee hub and sonoff Dongle Zigbee-P and E can pair 3rd party devices, why the other hubs like zigbee-U or NS Panel Pro can´t?
The fact that I have an NS Panel PRO and then can’t control the devices through it because they’re on the iHost diminishes the need to have the iHost, that’s all.

I have nspanel pro, but right now it’s the worst device I have. :frowning:
I use ihost matter bridge with hub matter smartthings station.
I control all devices through the smartthings app.
:slightly_smiling_face:Thanks to this ihost is not thrown out.

Maybe someday nspanel pro will become a stable hub matter. But that won’t happen soon.

Did you vote? :slightly_smiling_face:

This would be software.

In this case, iHost uses the CUBE operating system. Where there is code for third-party devices that they can understand and make work on iHost.

Zigbee-P and E dongles depend on the software they are using for this to work. For example, there are things that work on Z2M and do not work on ZHA. In the case of P and E, they were made to work with Home Assistant and Zigbee2Mqtt.

Zigbee-U or NS Panel Pro products are made to work with data pulled from the eWelink cloud.

Therefore, these third-party drivers (Tuya, etc.) are not there.

They only have them if they form a partnership, etc., which is the case with IKEA, and even then, not all models of the brand are supported.

The work of Zigbee2Cube is very complex and extensive. That is why iHost ends up being an excellent bridge for third-party products.
