iHost - accessing NTP servers every 5 seconds

only reboot iHost without any router settings?

Exactly. I just woke up, connected to it on my phone’s browser (by IP) and rebooted it.
The phone was connected to the same router.

Not that I’m aware of :frowning:

We catch that if *.pool.ntp.org dns resolve fail in ihost, ihost may do dns query again (each 5s). Are u remember what you did before this issue appear?

I don’t know exactly when the problem started.

The sequence I did was:

  1. Powered it on by the 1st time on Sunday;
  2. It was connected to my GL-iNet router (VPN was ON, Adguard was ON);
  3. It arrived with version 1.8;
  4. Log in to my eWelink account;
  5. Updated it to version 2.0;
  6. Added some Sonoff temp/humidity sensors;
  7. Connected to Sonoff NSPanel Pro (set as repeater);
  8. Added some Sonoff Smart Plugs (S26R2ZB);
  9. Installed the docker eWelink smart home to see my WiFi light switches;
  10. Installed the docker Tailscale. Did some tests and stopped the service (it’s installed, but not running);
  11. Added door sensors and sensors of movement;
  12. I recall I rebooted it at some point, but I don’t remember exactly when.
  13. Set some schedules (on/off the smart plugs at specific times);
  14. Set a scene (play the alarm sound if door sensor opens & movement sensor is off);
  15. I noticed no schedules were not working, so I rebooted it;
  16. The scenes are now working correctly;
  17. At some point I remember I turned off the router (removing it from the Power Supply) & Powered it on again. The iHost has a static IP.

These are the steps I remember.

I reproduced the problem :slight_smile:

When everything is connected and working correctly, reboot your router.

iHost will make a sound and the led will turn red, indicating it lost the connection.

When the router is back online, iHost will make a sound indicating it has the connection again.
I confirmed the internet is working, acessing any website on my laptop browser and also turning on the wi-fi smart light switch directly on iHost (this smart light switch is linked to iHost by the eWelink Smart Home dock.

My router is back online since 8.04 PM (3.04 AM your local time).
Now is 8.30 PM and I can still see iHost in loop acessing ntp servers every 5 seconds.

Therefore, in summary:
When the router reboot, iHost enter in an infinite loop acessing the ntp servers;
To fix this, I need to reboot the iHost (Note: the coolkit.cc domains are always in loop even after rebooting iHost, probably due to the geolocalization as pointed out by Morgan).

I’ll send a private message with the logs.
Please see the logs between 8.03 PM and 8.30 PM.

Just to check if did you receive the log last week (Ticket # 211381)
