Do we know anything new about iHost 2? I hope they are working on making it easy for us to transfer all devices and scenes from iHost 1 to iHost 2. really adding more than 40 new devices and so many scenes is definitely a strong demotivator to buy a new iHost 2.
Iām pretty sure I was told somewhere that you would be able to backup iHost 1 and upload it to iHost 2. Maybe when I was trying to think of uses for an iHost 1 if you have a 2.
Also would be interested in the date it is coming out. Guess now it is going to be a pre-Christmas thing.
For us using Home Assistant, we have ave not received HA Version 12.0. Is this the end of the project? I have waited for the new Ihost and now losing patience
They could at least write some information.
Just out of curiosity, what do you expect from a new iHost?
HA is nice
But thereās actually better hardware out there
Something that uses the official images directly
That way, youāre not dependent on the manufacturer forever.
And cube os
I actually really like it for certain configurations.
The current hardware is sufficient for that.
Itās more of a software thing
The hardware isnāt being used to its full potential yet.
Clearly integrated Thread would be nice
But the rest?
Ihost running HA gives you so many possibilities. The sky is the limit, once you go through the learning curve.
Check out my recent video on How to Use the Sonoff Ihost in-built speaker for voice notifications.
A faster Ethernet speed & NVME so it could be used to store movies and music as it is on all the time, aswell as a faster processor that is 64bit so that it is supported by Node Red in the long run.
Iām seeing a message āvideo not availableā. Did you remove it?
Does anyone know anything new about iHost2?
I have lost hope and now in the process of trying Raspberry PI. My Ihost is already skipping so many updates.
I have mentioned several times that they cannot communicate with us. I would also like to see a plan for updates and improvements for iHost. I have the impression that iHost is a dead project and sometimes I remember that it needs an update.
It is so problematic to install something when I do not know if the device has a future.
I had a lots of issues with the V2.8.1 update so decided to try the Raspberry Pi Cube version on a 8Gb Pi with a Sonoff Plus Dongle. Iāve only been using it with around 10 devices so far but it seems super responsive, much more responsive than my 4Gb iHost. Iāve just been trying a docker matterbridge mentioned in another thread and itās an aarch64 container so looks like itās 64bit. Iāll likely switch over and add my other 40 devices once Iāve done the next Cube update.
