I am very disappointed with the quality of Sonoff WLDC200

I am very disappointed with the quality of this cable. I bought it less than four months ago with the sensor and during that time it was lying under the bathtub. Recently, leak detection started after visual inspection, no water, inspection of the sensor and cable showed that the wire was starting to stick out in two places! As a result, a fictitious leak is constantly detected. Moving the cable causes the leak to disappear and appear, i.e. breaks and contacts the circuit.
The cable should be thrown away because it does not provide any correct detection.

That such damage would occur from lying on the floor is strange…

We won't find another employee like Ward here... :(((

@ward are you still with eWeLink?

Is that black spot a sort of burning?

It’s a wire… A protruding wire. Literally physically a wire that is an element of the whole came out, as if something had broken off and as a result it does not provide proper operation.

I’ve replaced all of my Tuya leak detectors with these in my home and RV as I thought the design, construction and (claimed) battery life was excellent in comparison, so this is quite alarming and I hope it is a one off.

I bought a new cable because I don’t think I can count on a replacement. See how it’s packaged… the cable is tensioned/bent at the factory in this place so it’s possible that the material could get fatigued randomly.

You might have something there, I do remember them being tightly packed.

When I refitted our bathroom I had installed the normal leak detection cables from Tuya (as Sonoff did not offer them at the time) so I’ve now soldered these cables onto the Sonoff leak detector as they’re inaccessible inside the floor and used the new cables where they are accessible.

BTW the Tuya ones absolutely chomped through batteries, so the Sonoff Zigbee version is a massive improvement overall.
