Just in case anyone else comes across this problem. I had a rf bridge that kept flashing. Did a tcp dump. Thought maybe it was a certificate thing as the handshake always failed. Turned out to just be a multiport USB hub with a contactless charger in another port. The changing current of an inactive contactless charger seems to confuse the charger. I’d bet the voltage changed but haven’t measured it. So if you see this problem just remove the contactless charger and don’t waste hours trying to solve this problem.
I have the same problem with it.
Try just powering it differently. That’s all it took with mine.
I believe that @eerke meant a different power supply, not a different cable. MicroUSB is just fine.
Looks like the problem was caused by the wireless charger. Even when idle, a Qi charger draws small, fluctuating current pulses, which destabilize the hub’s power conditions. That makes the main charger drop or spike voltage, causing the whole issue. Removing the wireless charger fixes it. Many issues come from unstable power supplies or cheap chargers with inadequate current. Most users underestimate how critical stable, well‑regulated power is.
