eWelink Door/Window Sensor - Feature - Reverse Status

Hi Guys,
I’m using 2 ewelink door/window sensor to know if my garage door is it close opened or tottaly opened.

But I’m facing a little issue.

If it are closed, no issue, sensor say that are close

I want to know when it are totally opened, and for that I put another sensor to reflect that, but sensor says that are closed.That is correct, means for me that are totally opened.

And this is my issue.
Anyway to add the feature to be possible reverse or customize the output of the status?

For example, if detect that are CLOSE output should be OPEN (reverse)

Or even better customize what we want that sensor says.

In my case , I want that reflect at least 3 positions
Sensor 1 should say
close = close
open = open
sensor 2 should say
open = open
close = totally opened

Don’t know if I was clear on my suggestion?

Thanks

Simple open/close sensors have two states: closed and open. There is no ‘in-between’ or ‘fully’ state.
I don’t understand much of your description of the situation. I am guessing that you are referring to a roller shutter door and the situation where the expansion is not complete. But a gate of this design has its own sensors that can be used to determine the position.

I think he wants to be able to change the status of the state. So that if the sensor is closed, it will display as open, and vice versa. It’s like a bi-reverse of the sensor display state.

Hi guys,

@jonniugr, you got it.It is exactly what I need

A feature to set the reverse. if the sensor is closed, it will display as open, and vice versa.

What is the purpose of this? A state is just a state. You can call it what you want and use it what you want.

Hi, Jam3 Trying to explain

module is acting in inch mode.If you press open, if press again stop, and if you press again close and vice-versa.

The reason of the sensors is to know at least 2 fix positions, full open and close.

When it says open for both sensors means that gate are somewhere in the middle

So the gate is double-leafed, yes? So the gate is double-leafed, yes? The idea is to signal ‘closed’ when the wings come together and stay that way.

No. is sectional door

The sensors are on black part of the photo
An the part that activate the sensors are on gutter

Image example

An the part that activate the sensors are on gutter

Is it possible ot implement this on windows/door sensor ?

I don’t think the devs will implement what you want. :slight_smile:
Quite an unusual solution. Just try to remember that sensor no.X and a specific state mean xyz.
I have a different situation where the sensor in the closed position shows the open state because unfortunately that’s how the sensor is built and DW2 has no choice but to show it that way. :slight_smile:

I think you need to mount this sensor in a different place and it will show correctly.

Hi Morgan, yes let say tuning. And I can say that works smoothly, let says that does what is intended, I’m just trying to improve it to other situations at home

Understood, that no choice to change how it works, but think what it says it should be a hard-coded value. The possibility to change it, it will do the trick, and in my opinion is this little things that make a difference when choosing what to buy.

The sensor by default says open or closed.

If it were possible to configure what it says, I think it would solve the situation

For example, some plausible situations

green or red
side a or side b
0 or 1
full / empty
middle / close
positive / negative

and among others

Mixing more then one sensor think it will allow some nice configs. Let say controlling fixed positions

By default, open is open and closed is closed and continues to be

But if it is possible, change the text “open” or “closed” to “whatever it says” will improve sensor to work one more stuffs at home

Hi ociepa.ekotoc, think I was clear on last reply that I post

Don’t know if you got the point now, but thanks anyway
