My Sonoff Zigbee devices are disappearing from the eWeLink app. First, a blind disappeared, and I had to re-add it and recreate the scenes, which had also been deleted. Now, another blind and two lights have disappeared. I have to open the electrical boxes where the devices are located, re-add them, and recreate the scenes. It is a major inconvenience; if they disappear while I am away from home, I will lose control of the house.
This behavior is not normal, but it is a known issue with Zigbee hubs. When multiple Zigbee devices disappear from the app, it usually indicates a problem in the coordinator, not in the end devices. The symptoms you describe (blinds and lights vanishing, scenes being deleted, and the need to re‑pair devices) point to one of the following:
- Zigbee network corruption inside the hub
- Coordinator firmware crash or reset
- Zigbee database loss (the hub “forgets” paired devices)
- Overloaded or unstable Zigbee mesh
- Faulty hub storage causing random resets
This is not typical device behavior. Zigbee devices do not “unpair themselves” spontaneously. When several devices disappear at once, the root cause is almost always the hub losing its Zigbee table. Unfortunately, when the coordinator wipes its pairing data, all scenes linked to those devices are also deleted, exactly what you’re experiencing.
Do a full Zigbee reset and rebuild the network from scratch. It’s the last‑resort method, but it usually works:
- Reset the Zigbee coordinator.
- Add all router devices first.
- Add the end devices (blinds, lights, sensors).
- Recreate all scenes.
After this kind of clean rebuild, the network usually stays stable.
