I using an iHost for my house, with Node-RED and eWeLink Smart Home add-on + home assistant with SonoffLAN integration.
Some features lack to sonoff zigbee devices to me, like power measurement and wall switches.
So I’ve been playing with Wi-Fi devices like TX1C and POWR316D/POWR316.
They integrate quite well, but I noticed that when I cut off Internet access, devices update their state to iHost, but iHost cannot control them anymore ; is it expected ?
Funny. All my Wi-Fi devices work when the internet is cut off.
POW R3 has a 13th junction in my network and all work normal on and off status.
Now on the question about energy data I don’t know.
I’m using Homebridge it with the eWelink plugin takes my devices on local network. It also passes the energy use information.
With this I can use this information in Home Assinstant without any problem and with everything without internet.
The same is with mine. @ward However, it would be useful to switch off the signalling of no Internet access in LAN mode. The LED flashing is very annoying, especially at night. A simple alert in the app would suffice.
Thanks. Internet interruptions are very rare, but they do happen occasionally. Usually in the middle of the night, because operators love this time for maintenance. Or when eWeLink has a server downtime. Of course, you can use a bit of BluTack and glaze the LEDs but that’s hardly an elegant way out. I have a fixture with a glass shade in the middle of the ceiling into which I have built the Eachen relay module. However you position it under the diffuser, the flashing in the dark can drive you crazy. A faint light but in the darkness it appears to be a lighthouse.
Yes, I know they are WiFi devices. I have all the POWRX here.
What I meant is that there is the option to disable their return LED in the ewelink app. I disabled those of mine.
I never realized during the power outage if they are blinking, as I said there are no visible back LEDs to be able to check.
