Hi,
I’m using NSPanel Pro (fw 3.8.7) and it fits my needs quite nicely. I’m using kiosk browser to display my automation UI (not Home Assistant), I’m also using open API for screen wake up/sleep and sound events. Basically I though that I would only need a full kiosk browser screen, but I also like the current open API approach and would like to do a bit more with it.
For my use case the following features that would make this product even better out of the box, and would encourage advanced user to use official fw instead of going to unofficial fw -route too.
-
To be able to hide/remove/minimize the >> symbols on upper center screen of kiosk browser (those which display address bar). They take up relatively lot space on limited size screen, so (my) UI has to have unusable/empy area around it. All that would be required would be a setting to display it as currently, small-sized arrows or no arrows at all (wipe down would display address bar, this would be my choice).
-
To be able to upload user sounds. The current alert- and doorbell-sounds supported by API are very 1990s. I see no reason why user couldn’t just upload own sound files and specify the name of which one to play via API – the stock sounds would still be there if someone uses them (and fw would remain backward compatible).
-
To be able to natively wake the screen with built-in sensor, instead of having to do this with API (although I think the API is a great opiton as you can additionally wake the sensor on system alarms etc).
-
To be able to poll presence sensor, last user activity time and other parameters/variables of the like.
BR,
Antti
