Zigbee siren for iHost

Has anyone tried pairing this siren to iHost? The list of compatible devices using Zigbee2Cube on the Cube plugin doesn’t help (I understand that’s difficult to keep up to date) but as I’m looking for a more potent siren for the iHost…I think I’m not the only one.

Unfortunately I can’t help you directly with that.

But maybe think about a more primitive siren that simply starts when it receives AC power, then one of the Sonoff switches as a start-up module and you have a ready siren.

Cheap plastic toys like that are rather quiet anyway. Unless you want something that can play any audio? In that case I would think about some speakers connected to a tablet/pc/laptop…

I think siren is not supported by eWeLink CUBE.

You can use on/off switches connected with a traditional siren as a workaround as @morgan proposed

Tried pairing one of these Zigbee Sirens into iHost. It pairs OK, but does not offer the option to turn it on / off. The controls are missing, it can not be actioned by ihost scenes either.

Interestigly it reports correctly as a router device, reports battery status and pulls the right device icon.

Would be great if it posted battery use i.e. when power fails and the battery backs up. Could be then be used to show power outage!

I solved the problem in the way you propose using this siren:

Powered by S26R1 and a 12V power supply (some random one, probably from the router). I used the inching mode set to one second to make sure it wouldn’t howl uncontrollably. I installed it in my summer house to remotely deter animals and it works. I tested it recently when, seeing on the remote camera that a deer was attacking my crops, I turned it on and the deer ran away to the neighbor  In this case, the inching mode is very useful because it is probably the only one solution if combination with “reaction after turning on - turn off” which it provides that the device in the remotely supervised location will not remain turned on and cause problems for us. It’s a pity that ZBMINI and S26R2ZB do not offer this option…

Which option?

Hi
I have bought NEO NAS-AB02W wifi siren alarm, but I cant add this to ewelink Does anyone have the same problem and found solution? Why it cant be added? Does ewelink support sirens anyway?
I have Sonoff CAM-S2 with motion sensor mounted in basement and would like to connect this siren in the top flor of my apartment…
When CAM-S2 motion sensor detects movement - activate siren so I could hear it even in the attic…

EDIT: I returned siren. In my opinion the application is very weak and does not support many devices…

Not sure the Arduino Code allows more than one device type but an alternative solution for a more DIY solution is to but an ESP 32 C6 and use the Espressif Arduino Core Zigbee examples to activate a siren and a Resistor/LED. Maybe via a transistor dependent on the current needed.
Would need to look at full Zigbee code and not just the examples, which don’t carry battery levels. Suspect you could code a sensor for power cuts but it’d need its own ESP 32 C6 and you’d need to pretend it was a common device type for the iHost to recognise it.
