I already have a Zigbee bridge from Sonoff (ZB Bridge - SONOFF Official), so I was under the impression that the emos smart switch would be able to connect to it, given the fact that they both use ZigBee 3.0.
Apparently, it cannot - upon opening the eWelink app and trying to add the switch, the bridge briefly finds it for a few moments, but when I try to add it, it dissappears.
Any clues if these two devices can work together? I wouldn’t want to get yet another zigbee bridge (from emos), given the fact that I already have the one from Sonoff and one from Philips (the Hue bridge, to which I also couldn’t connect the switch, but I didn’t have very high hopes there to being with, given the fact that Philips is a bit more restrictive).
Tuya Zigbee implementations do not properly follow standards. A “universal Zigbee 3.0” device, in theory, should be able to communicate and work with any Zigbee 3.0 device that uses standardised Zigbee protocols. Zigbee 3.0 was designed to ensure compatibility among devices, but it’s essential to research and plan for any necessary customizations or adjustments to achieve seamless integration in your smart home network. It is not always possible or effective.
