ZBBridge U

I have ZBBridge U, 16 devices assigned, but only 15 are online. Still when I add 16 devices others disconnect. (temperature sensors, motion sensors, door sensors) The signal is strong enough.

Still beter than mine. LOL. Please Sonoff find a fix for this issue. Every firmware update for zbBridge-U and NSPP broke zigbee lately.

Hello,

We sincerely apologize again for the inconvenience this issue has caused you. To help our technical team better understand and pinpoint the problem, could you please kindly provide the following information when you have a moment?

  • The Device ID of your ZBBridge-U
  • The current firmware version of your ZBBridge-U

If possible, you might also try restarting the gateway and re-adding the devices to see if that helps.

Additionally, you’re welcome to submit system logs through the eWeLink App. Just select your ZBBridge-U and remember to check the ā€œUpload Logsā€ option — this would be very helpful for a more in-depth analysis.

Once we receive your information, our technical team will look into it promptly and keep you updated on any progress. Thank you again for your understanding and support — we truly appreciate it.

I’m starting to regret I choose Ewelink and Sonoff. So many not working well devices and issues. ā€œEntry level brandā€ says internet. I should listen to it.

My zbbridge-u also has this disconnection problem. The bridge is not supporting more than 15 connected devices. If it exceeds 15, some become disconnected and some only reconnect when an event occurs. ZBBRIDGE ID: 100281fcec.

The problem occurs mainly with scene buttons and my snzb-04 door sensors.

firmware zbbridge: 1.18.3

hi, try assigning the zbmicro to the network, in the pro version, you cannot connect more than 10 devices without powered router devices. I tried zbminir2, for example, but the best result with signal repetition was zbmicro. As for the random offline state, for me it only occurs with devices that are not regularly in their state, such as PIR sensors and door sensors and water leak sensors, these sensors probably do not send regular reports often enough or the logic of the gateway is faulty and assumes that if the sensor reports no movement or a normal water leak state for two hours, that this is an error and the device will be displayed offline. However, as soon as a change occurs, movement or leak, the load will immediately be displayed online and any scene will be executed normally. The temperature sensor does not show this prompt because it sends values regularly with each change, i.e. a 0.1 change in temperature and humidity. However, this state is serious because it is not possible to rely on the device. and in some scenes I work with an offline state for the Water leak sensor. When there is a leak or it is off-line, the Water emergency valve closes.

Please find a solution guys! I had a power outage today, then I spent the rest of the day rebooting the bridge and hoping it will connect the devices. I had no luck but I’m starting to see a pattern here. If devices ar starting to disconnect on the weekend or a holiday we have no chance they will reconnect until a workday → which gets me to think some services are off on days off.

From a business perspective I can understand why Sonoff wont let us run automations locally, but at least solve the connection issues. The hardware we invested alot of money in is now practically useless and this is hurting your business too! I would still pay a subscription if that would mean I get access to APIs to run everything locally on HomeAssistant. For example I replaced all my light switches with TX ultimate → there is so much unused potential! You could give us access to the speaker, to the LEDs, bell, alarm, there are so many features - I would prefer the original firmware + access to all entities inside Home Assistant, and not have to deal with flashing ESP…

I found today a reason why my porch light didnt work as scene wanted. My ZB Bridge-U lost connections to all my 7 devices connected. I unplugged it from power for a few sec and again all working well by ownselfe.
Why was bridge disconnected? Why eWelink App was showing that all is good? ???

There is no proper communication between zbbu and ewelink.

Thank you for your findings and support. We have made a preliminary diagnosis regarding the situation you described. We will release a new version as soon as possible to fix the issue where some sub-devices incorrectly display an offline status. Please stay tuned for the latest updates on the ZBBridge-U. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us.

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

A new firmware version v1.19.0 has been released for the ZBBridge-U.

I’ve already updated my device and started testing it, and here are the key improvements I’ve noticed so far:

  • :white_check_mark: BTHome Support – You can now add and use BTHome Bluetooth devices directly

  • :white_check_mark: Zigbee Channel Management – Ability to change/manage the Zigbee channel to reduce interference and improve network stability

  • :white_check_mark: Matter Integration Enhancement – When pairing the ZBBridge-U via Matter, it now exposes Security Switches Modes (Sleep / Away / Home ), which is a great addition for controlling home security modes directly from Matter platforms

So far, the update looks very promising :+1: I’ll continue testing and share more feedback if I discover anything else.

If you’ve updated already, feel free to share your experience

updated - restarted. apart from the new features, I haven’t noticed any improvement in the zigbee status and offline status reports yet. I’ll wait 24 hours to see if the network stabilizes.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the ZBBridge-U firmware update.

In version 1.18.0, we adjusted the offline detection logic for both router and end devices to provide more timely and accurate online/offline status for sub-devices. However, we acknowledge that this change introduced some issues, causing certain end devices to appear offline in the eWeLink app. In most cases, this can be resolved by triggering or activating the device once.

To address this, in version 1.19.0, we modified the reporting interval configuration for SONOFF and eWeLink sub-devices. This adjustment will take effect when the device next reports data or rejoins the network.

If your Zigbee devices still appear offline in the eWeLink app after upgrading to 1.19.0, you may try re-adding the device. If the issue persists, please provide the model of the affected sub-device along with your gateway logs, and we will investigate as soon as possible.

Additionally, our testing team has identified a known issue where the gateway may occasionally experience a failure in the Zigbee module. When this occurs, all Zigbee-related functions on the gateway become unavailable. This is a complex issue, but our team is actively working on a fix. We have already made initial progress in identifying the cause and are currently validating the solution with some affected users. Once confirmed, we will release an update to resolve this issue for all users.

My programs themselves send log files when they crash. Make sure you have tools that can analyze and reports.

Hello,

I have carefully reviewed your feedback:

  1. Regarding the issue where sub-devices on the -U go offline: Our team has already optimized this for certain scenarios. Please try upgrading to the latest version, V1.19.0, which should resolve the problem.

  2. I noticed your request for the TX Ultimate switch devices to support local automation, or to allow access to all entities via Home Assistant (HA) without needing to flash the original ESP firmware. Could you please provide more specific details? For instance, what exact functionality are you looking to achieve, and in what usage scenario is this required?

Thank you.

I update to v1.19.0. Everything works fine for now.

About the TX Ultimate. It would be really nice to be able to have acces to the RGB LEDs to use in automations for example if the window is open, and the outside temperature, or the RH is below a set value set the color to red, or use the bell sound, or the alarm siren - practically change LED colors based on external sensors. The dream scenario would be to be able to push text to speach messages directly to the TX Ultimate (which you can do through ESP Home, but would be nice to do it with the original firmware).

After reading your feedback, I personally spent some time today deeply testing the TX Ultimate. Just as you anticipated, the device indeed has the potential to deliver fantastic results when configured correctly. Here are my findings and some specific updates for you:

1. Current Capabilities via Cloud Automations:
Our native firmware already supports ā€œAlarmā€ and ā€œDoorbellā€ modes as actions within Cloud Scenes. Additionally, you can trigger preset ambient lighting colors through these scenes to indirectly achieve some of the visual effects you described.

2. Addressing Current Limitations (Local Automation & TTS):
We acknowledge the current limitations regarding the inability to configure Local Automations directly and the lack of native Text-to-Speech (TTS) support on the device. Here is our roadmap for these items:

  • Local Automation: Our team is scheduled to release a new firmware version by the end of April. This update will enable the TX Ultimate to be mapped as entities within Home Assistant (HA). This will allow you to configure complex local automation logic directly in HA, effectively bypassing current limitations.

  • TTS Functionality: This feature requires underlying hardware support and is managed by a separate technical division within our company. I believe this is an excellent suggestion and will immediately forward your request to that team for evaluation.

Thank you so much for your continued support! Please feel free to reach out anytime if you have further usage questions or feature suggestions.

I initially used the cloud automations until I added more IoT devices from different brands. Unfortunately the cloud automations are not very reliable. When I only used the ewelink solution I often found my gas heater running because an automation did not run and left the heater relay on but all the radiator valves closed. That’s why we need local automations.

That’s great news about the TX ultimate switch! I tried the workaround with the DIY colors through cloud automations, but it would be great to have full control locally. I am now using the TX switches only as triggers for tuya led strip controllers since all my main lights are cob led strips. That’s why local HA controll is a must for my setup.

Thank you for your support.

I’m just reading through this thread. I assume the latest firmware auto update is responsible for both my bridge ultras going offline. I have tried resetting one of them but they will not go into pair mode and so I’m left with 2 ultras in different locations and no access to any of the many zigbee devices connected to them. Please can someone help
