It would be great if we could change “mode” of TX Ultimate in scenes
At the moment scenes only have option for “ambient light on/off/reverse” but no mode change.
Mode change would help assinging different colours to ambient light so we can use TX ultimate as a visual signal for certain actions.
Eg1.
– If motion detected outside,
- turn on ambient light
- make mode DIY1 (eg. “YELLOW”)
- wait 10 seconds
- turn off ambient light
Eg.2
If heating (TRVZB) is ON, make ambient light “red”,
If heating (TRVZB) is OFF, make ambient light “BLUE”
Etc.
Sonoff TX ultimate can be in all rooms and is very visible due to its nature (its in the wall, on eye level, inside the room etc.). So it can really be a good visual indicator in scenarios if we can somehow control ambient light colour in scenes.

Actually I have Alexa device and it’s possible to do it with a routine in the app (switching modes). Unfortunately I’m looking for a way to turn the ambient light on and off with Alexa routine. I need it to turn off the ambient light at sunrise and on at sunset. It would be cool to be added to the Alexa action! Please SONOFF, add the option to the action. Or add a sunrise and sunset in the schedule options in ewelink app.
Hi, just want to say big THANKS for adding that option in the eWeLink app! You are the greatest.

Hello eWeLink team,
I’m using Sonoff TX Ultimate switches and I would like to request improved control over the ambient backlight.
Currently:
- Ambient light can only be turned ON / OFF / Reverse in Scenes
- It is NOT possible to select the backlight mode (Night, Party, Leisure, DIY1, DIY2, etc.)
- It is NOT possible to change RGB color or brightness via Scenes or API
- Home Assistant and SonoffLAN integrations expose the ambient light only as a simple on/off light
This makes it impossible to use the ambient light as a visual indicator, for example:
- Door open → red backlight
- Door closed → green backlight
- Alarm active → flashing / different mode
Even DIY modes (DIY1 / DIY2), which are configurable in the app, cannot be selected from Scenes or automations.
Request:
- Allow selecting ambient backlight mode in Scenes
- Allow selecting RGB color and brightness via Scenes and API
- Expose these parameters officially so platforms like Home Assistant can use them
- +ideal scenario: give complete acces to all functions so we can use gestures, vibration, speaker, RGB, modes (just imagine natively using TTS just like on ESPHome flashed units)
Many users are asking for this feature, and TX Ultimate hardware clearly supports it.
Thank you!
