Ah, the eternal dance of wishful thinking and reality. Of course, it would be too much to ask for the eWeLink App and Web to slap a little label on Zigbee router devices—because, you know, clarity and usability are such overrated luxuries. And, oh yes, the fabled Zigbee network map—mentioned more times than a broken record. Surely, this legendary feature will grace us with its presence… someday… in a parallel universe.
As for the Sonoff devices and Home Assistant updates, it seems like a tale as old as time: firmware drops, and trouble ensues. But hey, why not just make peace with the Nabu Casa crew and streamline updates for HA users? Because, clearly, “compatibility” and “native support” are more compelling as empty buzzwords than actual deliverables. Who needs seamless functionality, anyway? It’s all about keeping things spicy with constant troubleshooting, right?
Hey buddy, haven’t have talk for quite days, how’s going lately?
Free to cue me incase i’m in middle of something and forget to join the discussion,
There already have a “zigbee icon” showed on the tiles on the corresponding devices in the App and the WEB, is that not as you expected or it’s too small to distinguish? let me know your thoughts.
For now, we collaborate with AlexxIT, who the well-known developer of SonoffLANhttps://github.com/AlexxIT/SonoffLAN to provide the integration of HA for eWeLink and SONOFF users, this is recommend, we’re really not familiar with python integration, but we’re open to sponsoring developers to do it.
AS for zigbee network map, let me talk to the team and get beck to you later.
Thanks for asking. Not bad. Not bad at all. How about you?
I just want an icon that stands for Zigbee routers to distinguish them from end devices. Different colour? Shape?
Good news! So I keep my fingers crossed, hoping that one day, integrating eWeLink with HA won’t feel like solving a Rubik’s Cube blindfolded—frustrating, seemingly impossible, and making you question all your life choices. Ideally, Sonoff devices would work smoothly across both platforms, like a well-trained smart assistant who actually does what you ask (instead of ghosting you at the worst possible moment).
By the way, if this ever becomes a reality, it would be like home automation’s equivalent of discovering fried noodles—life-changing, universally appreciated, and fueling unstoppable enthusiasm (and sales). In the meantime, I’ll keep tirelessly advocating the Works With Home Assistant programme like it’s my sworn duty
Oh, absolutely! But with your ingenuity and a dream team of brainy programmers and talented graphic designers, those App tiles are destined to be nothing short of pixelated perfection. Dazzling enough to make even the sun do a double take. Sleek enough to give mirrors a confidence crisis. Possibly so stylish that users will download the app just to admire the tiles—functionality, of course, being a delightful bonus
