This Sonoff LAN custom.integration for Home Assistant is the best i have encountered so far. I find it to be even way better than the Ewelink one. Unfortuntely many Sonoff devices are still not usable with this integration and everal.Sonoff devices have missing entities as well.
Does Sonoff support this integration? If not, please do.
No, eWeLink doesn’t support this integration outright, but it has teamed up with its developer, so there’s hope on the horizon. According to posts from eWeLink folks on this forum, the plan seems to be building an official integration tailored for the HA project on iHost.
Now, let’s be real. This integration isn’t flawless. It’s being crafted in the spare-time laboratory of Alex X, with a squad of passionate enthusiasts chipping in. This isn’t some slick commercial operation, so don’t expect miracles, as no one’s summoning software-genies here. Plus, as Alex X himself points out on the project page, some things simply can’t be integrated, no matter how much wishful thinking is involved.
As for the old eWeLink integration? Well, let’s just say it hasn’t seen active development for months and has achieved the same level of vitality as a dead parrot that is majestic, but utterly lifeless.
I have to say this is the fact at present.
I am hoping there is an offcial SONOFF integration (not add-on) for Home Assistant, developed either by AlexxIT, or SONOFF’s internal team.
I don’t see what my team could do about it in the near future (at least within the next 3 months.)
Please do invest in what Alex T and the others have started. They have already made an extremely good base to start with.
