I recently purchased an SNZB-02DR2 sensor and connected it to iHost. I wanted the temperature readings from the sensor to be displayed on the TRVZB valves, but the temperature cannot be associated. Is there a problem preventing the association? Or do you still need to update the iHost firmware?
For what purpose exactly do you want to see temperature readings on the TRVZB display? What that display shows has nothing to do with any actual temperature measurement. It shows the setpoint temperature - the one that should be reached and maintained.
The TRVZB can use its internal sensor or an external sensor; I want to use the SNZB-02DR2 as the external sensor.
I think it also allows external thermometers.
To put it more clearly, I want the external sensor of the TRVZB to be the SNZB-02DR2 sensor, but ihost doesn’t allow it.
Ah! That’s something completely different from what you described in your first post. Did you try adding it directly on the TRVZB card in the app? It works without any issues for me. See the video.
But it has to be with ihost. My temperature sensor is on the ihost network.
- Go to iHost → Add‑ons → Add‑on Store
- Install the “eWeLink Smart Home Add‑on”
- Start the add‑on and sign in to your eWeLink account
- Enable “Device Sync” and select the devices you want to sync
This should make the devices appear in the eWeLink app and should enable configuration of an external temperature source for the TRVZB thermostat within the eWeLink app.
I want to do it with ihost and it doesn’t allow adding an SNZB-02DR2 sensor to the TRVZB valves.
MINI-ZB2GS and SNZB-O2DR2 are not visible in eWeLink app in ThermoPlugin in Insight and Presence Simulation and in cast.ewelink.cc. Cast was updated every month, but now no updates from 5 months.
Good, they are available to SCENES ![]()
So, it looks like SNZB-O2DR2 need some update as it isn’t still fuly compatible.
Just saying ![]()
SNZB‑02DR2 comes across as yet another wasted opportunity in Sonoff’s lineup, unfortunately. It’s probably an unfair thing to say to the team designing new products, but it feels like they haven’t stepped out of the office into the real world for quite some time.
