I’m checking this comparison picture between these two products. The new R2 seems longer but thinner and gets 3 years on 2 AAA battery. Meanwhile the other gets 5 years with a CR2477.
This is not what I would expect. What do I miss here?
Marketing… perhaps the internals are different and life is calculated differently. Generally, I wouldn’t rely too much on these years, as it depends a lot on the intensity of activity and temperature conditions.
Perhaps they realized that the advertised 5 years is only on paper/lab, in practice, when the device is used every day, the battery life shortens very quickly, so they probably took this into account in the new version.
