Hi everyone, I absolutely in love with new feature for advanced plan users - virtual devices, it opens completely new level of integration and customization.
But very quickly I found out that the maximum number of allowed virtual devices is just 5.
For big apartment it’s extremely low number, not talking about a house.
My question: is there a way to increase this limit to 20-25 virtual devices?
I agree, as it’s a premium feature, there should be at least 100+ as the operating cost for eWeLink is negligible. Or maybe there is something I don’t understand ? Please let us know why the limit is so low…
On my side, I think I could use 10 virtual buttons…
I agree.
More I think virtual device should look more like regular device allowing timers schedules and inching. I love to treat it as regular switch.
Unfortunately created virtual devices are seen as sensors by Home Assistant. Would be handy if they could be recognised as switch instead.
Hi, thank you for your feedback and enthusiasm about the virtual devices feature, really glad to hear it’s been useful for you!
Currently, the limit of 5 virtual devices is set as part of the Advanced Plan offering. However, we understand that users with larger homes or more complex setups may need more. I’ve passed it on to the team for evaluation. In the meantime, could you tell more more about your use cases? It helps us better understand real needs as the team consider potential plan adjustments or future updates.
Hi.
I don’t seem able to add a virtual switch to the NSpanel widgets, am I doing something wrong?
Many thanks
The ability to add virtual devices to NSPanel widgets is expected to be available in the upcoming app version 5.17.
Hi, let me explain some of my use-cases:
I have few complex automations which includes sending a push notification to my and my wife’s phones.
I’m a software developer, so I also automated starting a developer environment in AWS cloud for me. for this I built an http service receiving start and stop commands and spinning up EC instance. Then I created a virtual device in eWeLink and 2 scenes: to start and stop the dev environment when virtual switch is toggled.
I have a very good looking smart curtains(not the product from Sonoff to convert non-smart curtain to smart one, but one from Quoya) and I can’t add it directly to eWeLink as it’s under their own smart platform. But it supports webhooks, so I created a virtual device and 2 scenes to close and open my curtain by sending a webhook call.
That’s great news.
I would like to see more devices available as well, 5 doesn’t seem anywhere near enough but it is a great start!!
