eWeLink Web V3.13 Update on March 06 -- Check your Home sharing & Device sharing

My advanced plan is ending
Expire on: 2023.12.22
I have already turned off automatic renewal and am waiting to see what happens.
If the lost functionalities do not return, I will no longer use www access. Previously, many functions were provided unsatisfactorily, but now even those that could have been useful for something have been deleted. The website is not worth paying for access.
I’m just waiting for the old interface to be restored

What functionality are you missing specifically?

But that will never happen…

It was possible to simultaneously observe live parameters of several devices. They were visible without going into a single device. It was also possible to switch the state without entering a specific device.
It was possible to refresh the parameter status manually. Without this, you have to wait a long time until the status changes at least a little and only then you know that the status is current and not archival. (This is a general problem for the system, because there is no indication of how long ago the reading comes from and it is not known how old the data is on the phone either. However, you could refresh the website manually and then see really fresh data)
Why forcefully promote (as new) something that is weak and worse than what it is supposed to replace? Good lost in a fight with something newer but worse?

Because they made it up like that and unfortunately they don’t care about it. Typical behavior of Sonoff and everything related to it… first they do something and then they will think whether it actually works.

But then, why remove access to the old version?
The one that exists now is not worth paying for. It should be free until treatment. In any case, I won’t pay for it in this form.
Not only that, even when they finally fix it, I most likely won’t be able to test it for free. I won’t go back without testing, so I probably won’t ever go back. Does this company strategy make any sense?

Translation:
“1. Dark mode
Archive of stored data.
2. In history, I can only go back 3 months (kWh) to the device PSF-X67 model TOB8-63WIFI brand TOMZN. For me, this is the main element blocking the expansion of the use of devices on this IOT platform. Competitive Tuya has no limitations as to the time of data storage regarding the collected parameters. Three months is definitely not enough, very little.”

I see there was an update to the web interface.

I’m glad to see hide offline devices is back to being accessible via 1 click from the main screen.

Things still missing or unacceptable:

  1. Dark Mode (I use dark mode on almost everything. Why would you take a feature away?)
  2. The ability to toggle channels on 4 channel devices in 1 click. Now I have to open the device to toggle a channel. Didn’t have to do that before and it worked well.

Very frustrating when something that clearly worked no longer works…and it was intentional.

The number doesn’t change, the statistics show an error no different from a landfill, but it charges the user, and after paying, you can’t see anything, just like a scam.

This new version is totally lame and shameful!!! You’ve been told for months and still no reaction! No change!
I’m going to cancel my subscription soon because I’m so disappointed!!!

It is essential to have the power and voltage data on this page for each meter! As was the case before!

(And for information there is an error in displaying power data when you exceed 10,000w. If consumption of 11500w it displays 1500w)

Now it has become really useless as an interface. The purpose of a meter is to see consumption information quickly. The problem now is that you have to click on each circuit breaker and wait several minutes before the data is updated. When we have to do this for 10 circuit breakers it takes me 20 minutes!!!

Same for the eWeLink iOS application

Already more than a year ago I proposed this:
There is no need on this page for the on/off button. There is a risk of disconnecting the house by accident. To turn off a circuit breaker it’s better on the next page.

The same would be needed on the web version (1st photo above)

An empty threat/act, this company does not refund the money that has already been paid. So whether the user uses the service or not during the active period is of no concern to them. Will they care if you don’t pay again… probably not because it’s a big company and $10 doesn’t make a difference to them. Unfortunately.

This does not change the fact that there are a lot of things to improve and add on many fronts: web, app, cast…

Can devs add to the roadmap adding the “Offline” variable for devices in the place where we usually select On/Off/Open/Closed

The fact is that the ewelink cloud already supports and understands this variable and both the web panel and the app display this variable.

What is it actually about. When the device loses connection with the cloud for some reason and the session timeouts, we see that the specific device has the “Offline” status as a signature and loses its colors. When it is online, we see its current status, i.e. On or Off.

I am aware that there is a function per device for offline alert after 5 minutes, but for many people push notifications are not the ideal form of sending status information.

Loose examples in “If” Smart Device/Micro/Offline
In “Then” according to the user’s needs, as it currently looks like…

I don’t think it would take more than a day for a good dev team to implement this.

In a similar way, the Online variable could be implemented on the principle that the cloud knows when the device re-establishes communication and changes the status of the variable from Offline to the current state, i.e. On/Off. As a result, you can successfully use it as an online function.

Currently, you have to use applications that observe the screen and read a specific text/id or browser add-ons that do the same and that’s all to have an Offline/Online information trigger… And ewelink already has all the code for this, only the implementation on the front is needed.

There’s one thing that’s bothering me…

Enabled scenes in two different ways give different behavior.

Scene example:

Name A1, automatic,
“If” Smart Device / S26 / OFF
“Then” Webhook…

A simple scene, nothing special, right? The scene is saved and set to Disabled.
S26 remains in the unchanged OFF state all the time.
When I manually click on this scene to Enabled, the scene will switch and the logic will work, i.e. the trigger will fire, everything is perfect!

The same scene is set to Disabled again, then using another scene B2 I do the same thing, i.e. scene A1 is set to Enabled but the scene logic does not work, the trigger does not fire. The scene will be executed only when the device status changes to OFF again, i.e. it must perform the On and Off sequence and only then the scene will shoot…

The only difference between a working scene and a non-working one is the way to switch it from Disabled to Enabled.

For some reason, the way I switch disabled/enabled affects whether the scene fires differently.

Mainly a question for Devs… WTF? And can you improve it so that the scene always fires?

Because the fact that the scene can fire immediately when it enters the Enabled state is a fact and it works, so the functionality in the code already exists today, but it is not implemented in the same way in both places.

Thx

It’s already support as launched

Hey Mar.1,
Thank you for your feedback, Your complaints matter to us.

It’s true that WEB 3.0 was a big change, and one of the things we did was to separate the full capabilities of the device and its settings from just the controls, and then we introduced CAST for dashboards, and the reason for this was that we had a lot of requests from users who wanted to separate the settings from the controls and who didn’t want the settings to be altered or messed up by other users, either intentionally or unintentionally.

I saw your screenshot, there are a lot of power monitoring devices, for this, we are optimizing CAST as well as conceptualizing a new section-energy dashboard/insights to meet the need for a unified display of thermostats and power monitoring devices, your suggestion is very important to us, please be patient with us as well.

In addition, we have renewed your Advanced Plan for another year, we hope you will continue to use it and keep on giving us your comments.

Yes, there are about 20 types of devices have the ability of “get notified after 5 min offline”, but to display the UI according the status between the device and the server is one thing, add action is another, One can be changed instantly, while the other requires caution, as it cannot be ruled out that some users will set it up inaccurately or incorrectly with unexpected consequences.

Unfortunately, I am aware of this, others have to suffer because of others’ carelessness.

Are you able to comment on my post no. 140?

If I’m get what you mean correctly, I want to know why you are using a scene to trigger another scene, as this can easily cause a loop.

hi, what’s your eWeLink app version?
don’t know if I got you but I tested this on V5.2.1

Original state
device1 OFF
device2 OFF

Create Scene A
if device1 OFF
then device2 ON

save the scene and device2 will be triggered to ON
turn off device2
disable and enable Scene A , device2 will be triggered to ON

enable scene A
turn on device1 and turn if off, device2 will be triggered to ON

is there any problems? do you think the device2 should be always ON if device1 is always OFF?
if so, when you turn off device2 manually, it will immediately be turned ON, and stuck in this loop.

Hi
In the new version of eWebLink Web, I do not see the option to change the button light (in %) for M5 devices. This was available in the previous version.

There is only a slider in the application - no preview %.

Request to restore this option in the near future.

do you mean SONOFF M5 wall switch?
I think M5 doesn’t have the % adjustment feature as it is 1/2/3 channel wall switch.
can you provide more details?
