💬 eWeLink CUBE 2026 — Let's Shape What's Next

I use it to bridge to both Smartthings and Homekit with no problems.
It collapsed completely last month after the 2.8.0 update but support worked on for 3 days until it ran again. What doesn’t work?

Right after the 2.8.1 update, nothing is working for me. Watch the videos:

Bugs:
The Ewelink app on my mobile crashes when I create a matter bridge.

If a matter bridge is created, it is immediately turned off and will not turn on.

It does not share all devices.

While they have mqtt, I don’t understand why their own devices don’t cooperate with each other via mqtt.

Open a ticket with support on the iHost settings/feedback tab. I gave them remote connection and they worked on it for 3 days until functionality was restored. I was on 2.8.23 in the end, until today´s 2.9.0 update.

There were several tickets, 5 log files, correspondence via private messages and nothing helped. I would have given them remote access but they no interest in remote access.

The problem persists even with version 2.9.0, I will probably remove nspp and install tablets instead.

What hardware is recommended for the Cube?

Raspberry PI 4/5 2+GB RAM.
PC with virtuĂĄl machine support.

When you mentioned “nothing helped,” did you mean that no one responded to you, or did someone reply but without providing a concrete solution?

Your great team did an update for my iHost to get it up and running but it didn’t help.

My ideas depend a lot on the new iHost’s capabilities. Any idea when it’ll be released? As an always on device it would be perfect for self hosting stuff but is limited by the Ethernet speed currently.

None matter if only available to advanced prime.

They need a benefit to prime membership for iHost. I currently have an advanced membership but it adds little. There needs to be something to drive membership. If moving quicker is driven by membership I’d prefer it to waiting longer.

I don’t think iHost competes with Home Assistant or is designed to. It’s a lot simpler. I have a Home Assistant and know far more YAML than I ever wanted to. Even now when you create automations in the visual editor you are best to view them in YAML too. They could just facilitate the docker Home Assistant docker getting out without writing a Docker Compose script. Then you could, if you wanted, connect anything in the HACS store because by then you have accepted to have to learn a little coding. Even now many things in the HACS store require importing text into the configuration.yaml file and with all the “vibe coding” about you need to be able to understand code.

I don’t think there is still a point to advanced then. Might as well cancel that then. I will NOT pay for advanced prime, especially now I’ve paid for advanced and they appear to have abandoned development on it. This subscription behaviour is becoming exploitative, and bordering on downright slimy.

You know you have errors there. When my switch or router is reset, remote access to iHost cast does not work and iHost needs to be restart.

I already mentioned that there are certainly many people willing to pay annually for premium features for iHost. They could solve this with a plugin available with docker. I don’t know why they don’t want to take this chance.

My idea of premium features:

  • Central heating system like in nspp.
  • Cooperation of devices via mgtt with iHost. We won’t need matter for local scenes and share devices to nspp.
  • Sharing cameras from iHost to nspp.
  • MiniNVR only for Sonoff cameras.

My idea for premium is scrap it and continue with advanced.

If you have the impression that the advanced plan is worth it and they focus on prime, that’s really how it looks. I also don’t see the point in paying for the advanced plan when there are no benefits for me because I’m local. I’ve written with the community several times that the prime is useless, let them focus more on the advanced plan.

They are looking for new sources of profit, that’s understandable, but I would rather go the route of bonus features for iHost, nspp and zbb u.

I would rather go the route of cancelling the advanced plan and going back to the free plan that I was on, seeing ad advanced really doesn’t have a future anymore.

They put ads there? They won’t cancel it because of a few people.
