Estendi rete zigbee

Grazie

Yes, basically. Looks like Copilot had a mild hallucination here. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It got the general idea right, but skipped a few important details.

Zigbee is a mesh network by design, and mains-powered Zigbee devices often act as routers, relaying messages between devices. However, not every mains-powered device supports routing, and adding one doesn’t automatically guarantee better coverage. It’s not simply an amplifier or range extender that you can place anywhere and expect it to boost the signal. A Zigbee router must be within communication range of the existing mesh, either directly or through another router, to extend the network.

So, make sure the device explicitly supports the Zigbee router function and is compatible with your coordinator.

Grazie ancora

I haven’t had a good experience with the smart plug, but I can recommend the SONOFF Micro Zigbee USB Smart Adapter.

The fact that a device supports the Zigbee router function doesn’t automatically mean it will work as expected in every setup. Hardware capabilities are one thing; actual behaviour depends on the coordinator, the platform and the network conditions. Even a perfectly capable router can’t extend the mesh if it can’t establish a reliable connection to it.

The S60ZBTPF can act as a Zigbee router in compatible networks, including Home Assistant and eWeLink. The SONOFF Micro Zigbee USB Smart Adapter, as suggested by @spoustaml, works great as a Zigbee router either. You haven’t said anything about your setup, though, so recommendations are a bit of a shot in the dark, and like Copilot’s hallucinations. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
