DST changes in March updates

I was looking forward to this feature to avoid manually changing schedules twice a year for DST/GMT and GMT/DST (all UK).

So far, it’s difficult to understand what this does.

It would help a lot if times shown in schedules had whatever time adjustment applied, for example 07:30 (DST) off, 00:30 (DST) on, actually shown next to the time.

It’s not clear exactly how to use the time adjustments. You have Time forward, Time back, Standard to DST, DST to Standard.

Isn’t Time forward the same as Standard to DST and vice versa?

Some Sonoff devices seem to change without any user intervention, others don’t and some changes made in Profile>Settings>Edit timers, don’t work at all.

For example. I have a basic switch to charge batteries using nighttime cheap electricity between 00:30 and 07:30 (Economy 7).

No changes, forward an hour, Standard to DST, make any difference. I change times, SAVE, and it shows 00:30 and 07:30 in the schedule where it should show 01:30 and 08:30.

It’s very confusing. It could be solved by adding the local time (GMT or DST) to the times shown.

Another issue are the effective times in TH10 Auto. Are these updated automatically when DST applies?

The “Eligible devices automatically handles DST changes” feature is designed to ensure that devices continue running according to their preset schedules without requiring any manual adjustments from the user when transitioning between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time (DST).
This is achieved through coordination between the device firmware and the eWeLink app.

For example, let’s say I have a curtain set to open at 7:30 AM and close at 9:00 AM. Before this DST adjustment feature was supported, when the clock moved forward by one hour in March, the actual execution time would have shifted to 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM, which would not meet my need, requiring my manual adjustment. Now, with this feature in place, the curtains will continue to open at 7:30 AM and close at 9:00 AM without any manual intervention(Profile>Settings>Edit timers).

There’s no need to manually adjust the time settings. However, this entry is not working at the moment and will be fixed in the next app version (Profile > Settings > Edit timers).

Regarding TH10 Auto’s effective times, they can automatically adjust when DST applies.

Thanks for that.
The problem arises with things you want to happen at local time, DST in summer and Standard (GMT) time in winter. You go to bed at the local time. Other things like off peak electricity stay in Standard time.
I’ll go back to my point that the times displayed in schedules should include what time it refers to i.e. 07:30 (DST).
Some devices, like the power switch, which controls lights, goes off at 23:00 in both GMT and DST. It switches at whatever local time applies and I don’t adjust it.
Others, like the Mini don’t adjust.
Yes I tried the new edit timers no no effect, but now you say it doesn’t work.
I’ve had to manually change the times.
This DST/Standard time issue issue is a pain globally and personally I wish governments would do away with it.
In the UK, DST was introduced in World War one to allow production, especially farming, to continue later into the evening. That no longer applies.
I’ll have to do some more observations and wait for the next update.
