Is it possible to switch a BasicR2 on or off from an M5 wall switch without creating a scene?

Hi there, unfortunately, Basic R2 cannot be added to M5.

M5 functions as a gateway and devices like S-mate and R5 can be added to it.

Currently, there are only two remote control sub-devices in Sonoff, and they are S-mate and R5.
