I recently bought 3 basic-1gsp to replace my existing din switches in my house and I have a question.
I registered them in Home assistant via Matter and found out that with actual firmware 1.0 there is no way to configure load limits (set less than 32 A). In some online reviews I saw that this feature is available in ewelink app.
Is this feature, set load limits also via Matter, in roadmap?
If not, can I pair the device with ewelink and matter at same time and control it from both platforms?
Well, I could have made some researchers before… Looks like the reason matter does not have a way to control max load is because matter people do not have (yet ?) defined this kind of feature, so sonoff can’t implement it…
I found with pleasure that putting the din switch in pairing mode and pairing it with ewelink did not create another device in home assistant, after pairing the device with ewelink I went back to home assistant and the device was still there configured and working. Nice!
You don’t need to go to the hub to pair it; you can just share it from Home Assistant. That’s how I do it—it doesn’t create another instance or anything like that. I think you might not be searching for the right information regarding Matter.
There could be countless reasons for this, ranging from Matter not supporting the feature to the manufacturer simply not wanting to expose it to third-party apps. In short, Matter itself isn’t quite mature enough for that yet. However, as I mentioned earlier, sharing a product across multiple platforms is one of Matter’s benefits, so I don’t see any problem with that.
