About the iHost Open source Project

This experimental project is dedicated to exploring the possibilities of running more open-source smart home platforms—and even other lightweight operating systems—on iHost. Through this initiative, we aim to expand iHost’s compatibility and unlock its full potential as a versatile local smart home hub. By encouraging collaboration with developers and communities around various platforms, we hope to create a more open, flexible, and future-proof ecosystem. Whether you’re working on Home Assistant, ioBroker, OpenHAB, Domoticz, or a minimal Linux distribution, your ideas and contributions are welcome here. Join us in pushing the boundaries of what iHost can support.

How is this working?
I have the following question.
Would it be possible to run the Matterbridge addon on this distribution?
If it uses MQTT.

Would it be possible to run the PonteMatter addon on this distribution?

PonteMatter add-on ? I don’t know that. I googled it but I found nothing. Could you provide a link to PonteMatter add-on .

Generally speaking, the Linux distribution comes with Docker engine build-in, so you can do anything that works in Docker. You can install Mosquitto docker image, Zigbee2MQTT docker image, ioBroker docker image, etc., if you like.

If you just want a complete solution for Smart Home, stick with HA over iHost.

Matterbridge Sorry, I didn’t see that I had written it wrong!
