TH temperature in Google when device is off

Hi Have a TH16 switch with temperature probe. In google assistant I can only see the temperature if the device is switched on.

if I want to get the current temperature whilst the device is off I need to switch it on, read the temperature and then switch it off. seems ridiculous but to be fair google assistant is such a bug laden piece of software.

Any ideas?
