What accounts for the difference in temperature ranges between these two devices? Is it a hardware or is it software that causes these differences in temperature range capabilities?
According to marketing materials:
SNZB-02LD -40C / +115C
SNZB-02WD -20C / +60C
If it’s a firmware, I’d like the 02WD to also be capable of operating down to -40C. Unless it’s a hardware, then… well.
When writing publicly on the forum, I assume that I am addressing these words to everyone, including people working for Sonoff/eWeLink… And I don’t know who exactly to tag because they are either ghost accounts or everyone is responsible for something different and, as you know, they have problematic information flow.
I’ve also contacted them several times via email regarding warranty issues.
However, I don’t think the question I’m asking in this post requires such contact. Many other issues are discussed on the forum, so I think this one is appropriate here, though I’m not expecting much of a response.
The thing is, this is an eWeLink forum. Sonoff doesn’t even bother to run one of their own. Nobody really knows why, though it’s not hard to guess.
Every now and then the Sonoff guys wander in, read a few posts, and occasionally even respond. Occasionally you can count on the eWeLink team to help out, but expecting that consistently would be optimistic. One way or another, Sonoff clearly has a very… unique approach to listening to the “voice of the people”
Sonoff mostly makes very good products, but their customer support is mostly crap. Every now and then they release total garbage, though that happens to any brand, to be fair. Unfortunately, they’re also pretty hopeless when it comes to firmware - unless eWeLink handles it for them, like with the NSPanel Pro. Overall, they don’t seem to give much of a damn about any of this. So it seems so.
