Do I understand this correctly, to add the PIR3 motion detector to eWeLink I will have to do so via a RF hub and it will not connect directly to the iHost either because it is an RF device?

Thanks jam3, it is a mine field out there… sometimes I get the feeling that we are not all singing from the same opera, by that I mean users and manufacturers, we as the end users would like to consolidate on certain technologies but the developers/ manufacturers keep selling us on the next big deal
This is why you need to plan ahead and not get too excited about offers. “Things are not always what they seem.” 
RF-based automation is a rather specific solution and is mostly used where a relatively simple means of remote control are required. In other applications, it has numerous limitations and disadvantages.
