Sonoff Basic Wi Fi Switches Current Software Reload

My collection of operational Switches includes BASIC and BASIC2. In the collection I have noticed that just one of the switches a BASIC2 with firmware ver 3.7.6 will not power up in ON mode despite the Power On State selected as ‘ON’.
Because it is the only switch affected I suspect that its firmware is corrupted. I’m wondering if anyone knows if there is a way of reloading the latest version of firmware into the device.

Thanks

I’ve never seen a way to do it yourself but I think maybe @sonoff can push beta firmware to devices so maybe they can also push stock firmware too…

Thanks- I’ll raise a ticket with them.

It is possible to do it locally using Tasimoza and a TTL to USB serial interface. The app has a ‘back up existing software’ option. I does need a named binary file to flash to enable the app to start the process (it has a library of Tasmota binaries to choose from). But once the back up phase has finished the app can be stopped and it saves the backup binary into the same folder that houses the app. I just then ran Tasimoza again choosing the backup binary that had been created but without the back up option checked and with the erase flash option checked. It then re-flashed the backup binary into the device. Doing this procedure resolved the problem that I was experiencing. A handy feature of the Tasimoza App is that after flashing the firmware the Configuration tab can be used to load the WiFi SSID and Password into the device negating the need to go through the pairing process again.

Is tazimozer distinct to tasmotizer or a misspelling? I know of tazmotizer. Did they not send another firmware to the device for you? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them send beta firmwares to people here.

I used Tazmotizer. Sonoff did not send me another software- they just said it’s not possible to repeat install the latest software version.Using Tasmotizer I checked the ‘Back up existing software’ box and chose one of the Tasmota binaries in the Tazmotizer Library to flash then started the ‘Tazmotize’ process. After it completes the backup it requests to power cycle the Sonoff device. At this point I just disconnected the usb cable and eventually Tazmotizer stops the process with an error message and it saves the backup.bin file to the pc. The next step was to re start the Sonoff device in flash mode and choose the backup.bin file to flash to the Sonoff device and clear the device memory option box checked.

The Tasmotizer software is here:
