👨‍💻‍【Release Note】eWeLink CUBE OS V2.8.1 Standalone Image Update

I don’t know.

We acknowledge this issue. Bypassing the addon, let CUBE itself support local addition of WiFi devices, and this feature is in our plans, but it won’t be ready quite so soon.

Hi @KwayLi99
Can you provide a development plan for Cube OS for the next six months? When are the updates planned and what new features can we expect?
We know you’re celebrating Chinese New Year from February 17th, so there will be a long break.
Can we expect development of the Matter hub in the upcoming updates? Will new Matter devices be supported, such as Matter motion/occupancy sensors, Matter smoke detectors, Matter blinds, etc.?

In March there was support for Airguard, which caused outrage.

The beginning of this month was supposed to be an update, but it’s not.

I asked about this too but I didn’t get any calendar.

Now they are struggling with nspp and iHost is goingsideways I think :frowning: .

I’m also worried that IHOST will be relegated to third place this year.
Let’s hope they at least make NSPANEL fully functional.

I base all my Matter devices on the SmartThings platform, which already uses the Matter 1.5 SDK.

I only use ihost for zigbee devices.

Sometimes I have unstable internet so I have no other option than iHost. I bought nspp to control everything but when it is too dependent on the cloud it is impossible for me to install anything else there

Jb

I started with NSPANEL Pro four years ago. But it proved to be a weak product, so I switched to IHOST.
The first two years of IHOST were terrible. Now it’s fine, but IHOST hasn’t kept up with new developments, so I had to use SmartThings.

For the CUBE standalone version, our upcoming focus will be on optimizing the experience of connecting the Zigbee dongle, ensuring that once it is connected, CUBE will automatically flash to the default supported Zigbee version.
Additionally, we will work on improving the integration of WiFi devices, allowing them to connect directly to CUBE, bypassing the Add-on.

Of course, we will continue to optimize and expand support for Matter devices, but the focus will still be on connecting them to other ecosystems through the Matter Bridge.

i loved that so much

can we have please section for camera’s . instead of opening each camera and merge view then we have a tab specified for camera’s to run all at once with single click

I suggested that they make a recording player for Sonoff cameras that would have an SD card.

I have a number of issues with my V2.8.1 install on my iHost

  • lots of ‘Failed to Control’ messages for a few days after the 2.8.1 install
  • I can’t edit the smart/manual scenes
  • it only lets me connect to one ONVIF camera
  • I’ve had to disconnect some zigbee repeaters to stablise the zigbee network.
  • It’s developed various issues connecting to the Sonoff Presence Sensors
  • Matter to Alexa seems very slow since the last update

I have over 50 devices on the system with 19 TRVZBs so it’s very important for my heating control.

I have just installed a V2.8.1 Standalone image on a Raspberry Pi 8GB with a Dongle Plus MG24. It seems to be fairly stable and I have some test zigbee devices paired and the Ewelink and Tasmota docker plugins running with various devices. I’m considered moving over all my devices from the iHost as it’s been running for over two years now.

I have a few questions

  • Is it a good idea
  • Is the standalone image 64 bit on the raspberry pi and will Cube run faster on a 8GB Pi?
  • Is there an easy way to migrate zigbee devices over between iHost and standalone?
  • Is there any way to migrate smart scenes, and manual scenes?
  • Is there a way to migrate cast dashboardss ?

Any help appreciated…..

Hi, I have suggested the Zigbee migration feature several times, i.e. setting up and configuring walls. I am also interested in this option because I have an awful lot of scenes and devices. I don’t want to move them manually.

I found this tutorial, but I don’t know if it really works.

Is there an official method to get support for the standalone image ? There’s a feedback link on the iHost web ui but not on the Standalone cube web ui.

I’m seeing these errors repeatedly on the standalone console and would like to understand if I should be concerned about them.

Is it true that Cube OS doesn’t support Z-Wave?

Yes. Cube os does not support Z-wave and Thread

somehow everything went wrong and synchronization doesn’t work, I’d like to factory reset but I can’t find it anywhere
