I have a Sonoff MINI-ZBDIM installed in the official Sonoff enclosure. Before installing it permanently, I checked the wiring diagram in the manual and connected everything on a test setup. The dimmer works correctly.
However, at the wall switch where I would like to install it, there are only two wires coming out of the wall: one live wire (with mains voltage) and one wire going to the lamp. This does not match the wiring diagram shown in the manual.
Is there an alternative way to connect the MINI-ZBDIM using only these two wires, or is that not possible with this device?
Unfortunately, there is no model that you have that needs a neutral wire. If you only have an input and output to the light at the switch, you must use SONOFF ZBMINIL2
OK, thanks for letting me know. I’m already using the ZBMINIL2 at home, but unfortunately it isn’t a dimmer. Would it be possible if I connected the neutral wire to the socket from below? Best regards
technically it is probably possible under certain conditions 1 both circuits are in the same phase. and the circuits are not protected by surge protectors. but from the point of view of the standards in my country it must not be done. so I can’t recommend it to you. it would be better to use smart bulbs This one from sonoff supports dimming in the scene
Thanks for your reply. I think the wires for the sockets and lights run in parallel. I have a fuse in the fuse box in the basement that controls both the sockets and the lights in the room at the same time. So when it’s switched off, everything goes out.
