iHost device unusable without update rolls back possibility

Well, I love my ihost and I am satisfied. But I use iobroker in it (it is possible use also home assistant) and also an asterisk server. Cube for ihost it is not yet complete and the lack of backup is reason enough not to use it. But cube will never measure up to open source software.

You confuse hardware and operating system with software  I am very happy to have bought ihost
docker

There is no confusion.
IHost is an inappropriate device both in terms of hardware and software.
The whole concept is wrong and even more so the way of updating, which creates new and new problems every time.
It is your right to be a satisfied and happy iHost user, but you probably only have 2-3 devices ordered by iHost or you have had iHost for 2-3 weeks, otherwise I donā€™t really understand how you can be satisfied with this device.
When you will have 30-40 devices, 80-100 scenes that will have to be deleted and rewritten after each update due to errors that occurred during an update, you will have a different opinion.
But as I stated above, you have the right to be happy with iHost and I have the right to be angry with iHost   :).

The software is free and you can install a lot of app. I integrated everything, including the router, with iobroker. I have about a hundred peripherals, wifi and zigbee. I can make notifications with email, telegram, telephone, pushover, alexa. I program in javascipt or more easily with blokly. I have backup. I can give customized commands with voice. I also programmed a westminster type clock with the house speakers. You are only right if you stop at cube.

In this topic, reference was made only to the iHost device and the problems it creates with each update.
What I donā€™t understand is why you mess with iHost instead of using Raspberry Pi, especially since from what I understand youā€™re into Open Source?

Ok, but ihost is the hardware and the operating system with docker. Cube is the proprietary software but you are not obligated to use it entirely. I prefer ihost to raspberry for the design, cost and because it works very well with iobroker and asterisk.

Ok, but I hope you agree that if you post in the eWelink Cube topic, the fact that you are perfectly satisfied with iHost, when in fact you are using the box and the motherboard, without the eWelink Cube, is more than strange, especially since you are trying to -convince those who use this product not only for the box and motherboard, and the reported problems are addressed to the support staff who only find out about problems through this forum.
Your post is as strange as me posting on https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac/macbook-air in a topic where someone complains about software updates and I insist that I am fully satisfied with my MacBook when in fact I installed Windows 11 as an operating system.

Not only the box and the motherboard but also the operating system and the basic interface with docker and addons. And the developers and the forum take care of this too.

Those related by you have nothing to do with this topic!

I solved all the problems related to iHost, today, 04.12.2023 :).
I turned off the iHost power supply, disconnected all connecting cables (power supply, internet), carefully placed it in the box in which I received it and threw it in the farthest corner of a closet!
It is the best solution for the iHost project at the moment!
The solution above fixed all the functionality issues, known or unknown!
Now I can declare that I am a happy user of iHost Sonoff!!!

You can send it my way if you donā€™t need it.

Thats a good idea. i also have a lot of problems with iHost, mainly motion automations. So far i am NOT a happy user of iHost

i just power up ihost yesterday. frankly not easy to use
once registered with my account, i proceed to update the firmware, then add in all the availabke addon incl ewelink.

to my surprise, it doesnā€™t inport in all my devices into ihost. i just import in sonoff switches. not even sonoff or ewelink camera. i have few mechnical switches that are not sonoff switches on ewelink acct, also never get imported in into ihost.

another surprise today, while ihost online, registering non sonoff device on ewelink (can be registered). ,it shows the switches offline. when i turn off ihost, it show that non sonoff switch online.

is that means ihost for local control is fake.!!!

Yes it seems local control is fake, i also gave up using it. ewelink cloud is better and more reliable.

Hi,
It is not fake news that iHost works locally.
But there are numerous limitations and some essential conditions that are necessary and even mandatory for the devices to work locally.
iHost is a Zigbee hub, but it is even now much inferior to a Zigbee Bridge Pro. With the help of some Add-ons, iHost can locally control only compatible WiFi smart devices that have LAN control. Non-Sonoff devices that can be controlled by iHost are mostly Zigbee devices.
If you want automatic scenes to work locally, they must be added and saved locally on iHost. Unfortunately, this aspect of the local scenes was a determining reason why I gave up on iHost due to the appearance of more or less complex problems almost with every update. The update solved one problem and created 2 others.
If you have stable internet and an average router and want stability in the operation of smart devices, I recommend using the eWeLink APP and the cloud service.

Unfortunately iHost is useless deviceā€¦ causing more problems and frustrations than helping.

The software is just very very bad !!!

Yes you are correct, spot on. I have numerous problems with iHost, If i could i would have shuffed it up someones ass, what a waste of money. Only time based operations work, motion based operations do what they what when they want on and off and stay on or stay off, what a fuck up.

Hi. I am also an UNHAPPY iHost user. I have 40+ devices and 55 automations that run on eWelink cloud now because that ihost shit i bought 6months ago with so much promises could not done half have of what i have now. every time you log a complaint it comes back with a lost of questions from the developers. i wish we can have a refund. the iHost is realy a fart in the wind. I had HA that i friend of mine installed for me, but i am not computer savvy so i tried iHost and lost a lot of money. What a useless product.
