HomeKit Integration Not Working – ZBBridge-U (Matter Offline)

I am facing an issue with HomeKit integration on my SONOFF device. The device works perfectly on the eWeLink app, but it is not responding in Apple HomeKit.

Here are the device details:

  • Device ID: 10023394d5

  • Model: ZBBridge-U

  • Manufacturer: SONOFF

  • MAC Address: d0:27:03:dd:e9:7c

Setup details:

  • Connection type: Ethernet

  • Phone connected to 2.4GHz IoT Wi-Fi network

  • Device successfully added to Apple HomeKit

Issue description:

  • In the Apple Home app, devices and sensors appear with generic names such as:

    • Matter Accessory, 478

    • Matter Accessory, 479

  • All accessories show “No Response” and appear offline

  • Control does not work from HomeKit

  • The same devices work normally and respond instantly in the eWeLink app

Important note:

  • This issue started after I used CUBE OS on a virtual machine. Since then, HomeKit stopped responding, while eWeLink continues to work without any problem.

Please advise on how to fix this issue

I’d like to understand how many sub-devices you have, and how you are using ZBBridge-U together with CUBE OS.

We can see some error messages in the logs, but we’d also like to better understand your specific usage scenario.

Hello Yi,

Thank you for your message.

If you are referring to the total number of Zigbee sub-devices, I currently have 33 Zigbee devices connected.

I am using the ZBBridge-U together with CUBE OS to enable local scene execution and reduce dependency on internet connectivity, ensuring automations continue to work even when the internet is unavailable.

Please let me know if you need any additional details regarding our setup or usage scenario.

Best regards,

Dany

So in your setup, CUBE OS is being used as a Matter Hub, and the ZBBridge-U acts as a Matter Bridge to synchronize Zigbee devices into CUBE OS for use (e.g., building local automations).

Is my understanding of your usage scenario correct?

Yes, your understanding is correct. CUBE OS is acting as a Matter Bridge,to synchronize Zigbee devices into CUBE OS for local automations.

Thank you so much!

I do have another issue with NSPanel PRO and adding matter devices to eWeLink.

Can you help ?

I want to share devices with iHost on nspp via matter, but unfortunately it doesn’t work like yours. There is no solution in sight and I am starting to lose patience.

It is on my walls when it is unusable. Due to the stability of the internet I am dependent on local control.

Thank you for replying.

Are you able to add a matter device to your NSPanel PRO ?

I am trying to add to it, Govee lighting bulbs that supports matter, but it’s not adding them to the NSPanel PRO.

I can add easily add them to HomeKit app :frowning:

I have a bunch of devices added in NSPP Pro. I paired them to eWelink and iHOST and I can see and control them in NSPP Pro. But all other zigbee devices are unavailable 3 mounts.

You can ask your question in the NSPanel section instead. We are different teams.

We’ve pushed a new firmware version (V1.18.1) to your ZBBridge-U (Device ID: 10023394d5) to address this issue.
Kindly restart your device and then proceed to update the ZBBridge-U via the eWeLink app.
Thank you for your patience!

Will update it right now. Thanks for the update.

This morning, my internet quota was reached and I lost internet access. Is it possible to lose control of eWeLink devices in this situation, even though the bridge is connected via Ethernet?

Thank you.

May I ask if the update was successful?
If your internet data quota has been exhausted and you’ve lost internet connectivity, you won’t be able to receive updates for the ZBBridge-U. However, as long as your phone is on the same local network as the ZBBridge-U, you should still be able to control most eWeLink devices. You can give it a try!
