Cube os on orange pi 3lts

Hi

I want to ask could I install cube os on orange pi 3 lts

and if yes where to find the right image of cube os for orange pi

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your interest in CUBE OS! At the moment, the images we publish are limited to Raspberry Pi boards and to hardware that supports virtualization on an x86-64 architecture (e.g. running in VirtualBox, VMware, or Proxmox). Unfortunately, the Orange Pi 3 isn’t supported yet, as it would require additional adaptation and testing.

That said, if we see enough interest from the community for Orange Pi and similar boards, we’ll definitely consider adding official support in future releases.

Thanks for the answer

I have one more question

Could I install the cube os image for the raspberry pi 4 on the raspberry pi 3

As I have plenty of the 3 to be used

Thanks in advance

Right now CUBE OS is designed for devices with at least 2GB RAM for stable performance.
We haven’t optimized it for 1GB boards like the Pi 3B+ yet.

Think some early variants of the 4B had 1GB of RAM in order to be cheap ($35). If Cube OS only runs on the 2GB variants might be worth remembering to ask about memory if you get a device not working. Never seen one though.

Do you use a RAM disk, or how do you prevent rapid SD card degradation? If CubeOS is running from an SD card and using swap, it probably won’t have a very long lifespans.
