# USB port usage on iHost (docker / add-on)

Since iHost firmware version 1.9.0 there is an Add-on supported mounting and accessing USB serial devices.

If anyone has experience or knows, please give an example of how exactly the port assignment is done when installing and running the add-on in Docker.

I would be also interested how to communicate over the USB/Serial to another device. Does anyone have an info how to do it?
