Since the launch of the TRVZB, we’ve received great support and positive feedback from many users — and at the same time, a number of requests for new features, especially **Adaptive Mode** (Smart Temperature Control), allowing the valve to automatically adjust based on conditions for smarter temperature management.

We will soon be testing a new TRV firmware version, where you can be among the first to experience the Adaptive Mode. If you’re interested, please fill out the Google form below by **October 31**. We will confirm testing eligibility within this week.

\*The recruitment for the TRVZB Adaptive Mode beta test has ended.
Thank you for your support! We will notify all participants of the results via email or other contact methods soon.

Hello,

I have fiew questions:

1. How long will the tests take?
2. Can I withdraw during the testing period?
3. Can adaptive mode be turned off? for example if there will be too hot? 😁
4. Will it be possible to revert to the previous software version if something goes wrong?

1. To ensure data reliability, we need to test for at least two weeks.

2. You can withdraw the test if there are special circumstances (such as going on vacation).

3. The target temperature is still set by you; we have mainly added a gradual adjustment capability to the device to reduce room temperature fluctuations.

4. Yes, that’s possible.

I signed up for the test.

1. When was the information added, have I been selected? Will the information be sent by e-mail?
2. How will the update be performed?
The head must be connected to Zigbee Sonoff gateways, or can it be connected to another gateway?

This is an interesting concept- can you please let us have an overview of what you are looking to achieve with Adaptive Mode ? How I understand this mode is that the TRVZB would learn the heating profile of the area it serves and adjust its Heating/ Keeping functions so that the area reaches the target temperature at the scheduled time rather than start to ty to achieve the target temperature at the scheduled time. Am I correct with this interpretation ? Thank you.

Thank you for your support!

1. We have collected a sufficient number of questionnaire responses and will notify the test results via email by this Friday.

2. After the results are confirmed, we will contact the selected participants and provide the test beta firmware.

3. This feature is mainly developed for TRV devices connected to SONOFF Zigbee gateways.

Yes, your understanding is very close. TRV Adaptive mode will automatically adjust the valve opening, based on our smart algorithm, using the detected rate of temperature change and the target temperature.
The benefits of this are greater energy savings and reduced temperature fluctuations.

Thank you. Just wish to also enquire if TRVZBs equipped with TRV Adaptive Mode will still offer ‘Heating’ and ‘Keeping’ statuses that can be used in scenes (iHost Scenes) to control other devices (e.g. TRVZB as parent \> switching device as child).

Hi. Will it be possible to choose how the Trv head should behave? I mean, will it be possible to choose between adaptive mode and 0-1 (heating, not heating)?

Hello, I’m testing the adaptive mode. Why doesn’t it turn off the boiler at the set target and still appears to be heating? Does anyone know how this PID function works? Thanks.

PID is a **precision temperature control algorithm**. Its core function is to automatically adjust the opening degree of the TRV valve based on the difference between the real-time room temperature and the target temperature, thereby maintaining a stable room temperature.

The phenomenon you observed — **the system seemingly still heating even after reaching the target temperature** — is completely in line with the intended design logic. At this point, the valve will not fully close; instead, it will remain at a very small opening to keep the system running at low power. This design not only prevents the room temperature from dropping rapidly due to heat dissipation and avoids frequent startup and shutdown of the boiler, but also ensures temperature control accuracy, extends equipment service life, and reduces unnecessary energy consumption.

If you want to expand what to do with trzvb valves for distributors designed for underfloor heating. I could give a description of how I do it and also have ideas on how to improve it.

If any radiator is even a bit the boiler needs to be ON and if if they are all off the boiler can be OFF. I can think how to do this with a virtual device if it appears in Home Assistant, thereby letting the TRV interact with boilers from other manufacturers. Could there be a Boolean ON or Off for a whole houses worth of TRV in the Home Assistant Add On?

Do you have an estimated date for its official release?

Good morning, I purchased four more valves and opened a feedback form asking me to update these new valves to the 1.4.2 test version like the others I own, but after 15 days I haven’t received a response. Is this normal? The valves in question are:
