Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some advice on the best way to set up dimming for my living room lighting. My setup right now is:

- **NSPanel Pro (latest v4.4.0 firmware)**
- **Sonoff M5 (3-channel)**
- **R5 Remote**
- **Home Assistant**

I have an old D1 dimmer and ran some tests, but since it’s Leading-Edge and all my new lights are LED the dimming isn’t great. I recently got the new Trailing-Edge MINI-ZBDIM and it works perfectly with my lightning!

Now I’m trying to figure out the best way to wire everything so I keep my wall controls - specifically, the M5 for on/off, and the R5 for dimming. I see two possible approaches:

- **Option 1:** Wire the Dimmers for constant power and use **eWeLink Local Scenes** on my NSPanel Pro to link the M5 button presses to the Dimmers. I’m already doing this in my Kids’ room where one M5 channel controls a S60TPF Smart Plug (connected to a night lamp), and it works great. There’s a slight delay but it doesn’t really bother me. To keep both of them in sync, I always control the M5 via scenes and automations, never the S60.
- **Option 2:** Wire the M5 Output directly into the **S1 terminal** of the Dimmer and use State/Following/1-Way Paddle Switch Mode. In theory this should work, and also remove the delay. I’m on a single-phase electrical system, but I’m still worried if this approach is safe and reliable, so I decided to ask here before I try 🙂

Has anyone tried this setup? Is one of these options better, or is there a simpler/more reliable way to achieve this?

Would love to hear how you would handle this!

Thanks in advance!

**P.S.** I already tried an **Option 3:** wiring the M5 output to the **L-In** of the dimmer, thus cutting its power. I found this is not reliable at all - there were even longer delays (dimmer rebooting and reconnecting) and occasional flickering (relay output), so I ruled that option out. Definitely don’t recommend this!
