Docker management is great and the volumes are a real help. It would be great if docker management would also include the ability to pass through devices to the docker. And if it was documented, how to directly access the native Zigbee hub.

There are no plans at the moment. External Dockers do not have access to and control over zigbee hardware - this is designed for a higher level of security.

However, in the plan, we will try to make Docker capable of using USB ports - including storage and USB communication

Thanks for the info, @Alexie
This means that I could connect a Zigbee stick to enable use in Docker. 🤔
A pretty odd thought to have a box with native Zigbee and needing an extra Zigbee-stick. But at least it is an option. And in principle, enabling use of the USB-port makes absolute sense. Any idea when this will be?

Come to think of it: Let me rephrase it. Homebridge runs in Docker. How does Homebridge access the native Zigbee devices?

In order to have a further understanding of the status subscription and device management APIs, we provide an open-source project …

native zigbee devices are available through eWeLink CUBE pulgin

…meaning that someone in the community would need to build an eWeLink Cube integration for Home Assistant to access native Zigbee devices. Understood. Thanks. 👍

I sure wish I understood any of this before purchasing my iHost Hub, watching all the selling videos should have a “buyer beware” clause or return policy like stating Docker’s Node Red is not simple to use for beginners and requires JavaScript knowledge.

Pallets are mostly incompatible and without a mentor impossible to use.

I purchased a zigbee temperature sensor that advertised barometric pressure that was never available to read or monitor, and A 4 channel relay DIY module that connected awesome. However the software said 7 on 1 off when it came to relays energizing or outputs … the logic displayed was flawed. Returning both !

Overall if I ever get a stand alone local automation going , I don’t think it will run independently on a iHost hub, as the Docker Container support is inefficient to allow for A basic understanding to suck the community into using it.

With all due respect, Node-RED has never been easy for regular end users to use. It requires a lot of knowledge, and I think eWeLink made a mistake by suggesting it as an add-on.

I would like to think it is possible maybe with more knowledge or someone whom has been successful before the next update. I think Node-Red is an an awesome tool, for someone with a mentor. Wishful thinking I guess, iHost appears to be such an awesome unit, but maybe that’s the point. The Deloria stainless steel body, Windows XP, blood transfusions, and cancer. There maybe a cure, but we can’t make any money if we create the cure today.

I see how some of the nodes work regarding the pallet installs , there must be some hidden JavaScript that works in the background of each pallet container that is hidden from the user to prevent reverse engineering. However I do not see support for all my devices. I can’t seem to get folks from Flic to respond, they must have busy lives I guess. Leviton switches I see none, over the course of 5 years I started with 3, replaced one, and bought a fifth all to see two of them no longer communicate again since our last power glitch four days ago. Leviton replace there App amalgamating Gen.1 switches with Gen.2. But I can’t get my Gen 1. to work with the newer app. And the older App is no longer supported with on going iOS updates. Both my LifX devices, of the one: my 4 button scene switch along with 3 other Meross devices no longer respond to Siri. Meross so far the best, and I see the pallets for them exist. But how to use them has been a 2 month mystery. Lifx makes no sense. I break it on down to not knowing JavaScript. But these product advertisements… should at least support what they can, or cannot do. I think YouTubers should start privatizing their videos instead. As for my personal examples have not been adaptive to the videos I have watched.

… In the end it is mostly my part of buying into a product with high expectations over watching a few YouTube videos, thinking it was so simple. I wanted to get my Sonoff devices connected to the automation matter for that I had to require a hub or a bridge , where the iHost seem to be the do all solution to talk to HomeKit, very impressed. However even HomeKit has been a big disappointment, having to replace an iPad with a another all because Apple last October-ish updated their iOS which bricked most of my devices. To which I have no control of. Their cloud concept removes my control, and I was hopeful this local automation was the solution. As iPads are no longer acceptable as HomeHubs A HomePod mini severed to purchase a new solution for matter connection. Unfortunately it was great for a HomeHub for two months, until it replaced our local radio stations, using “TuneIn now” … with foreign content from another country.

**I don’t get it !**

The nice part I see here is the blog or forum will not be closing anytime soon, I should learn the differences, as it does not appear to have an [expire date](https://discourse.nodered.org/t/flic-ihost-hub-by-sonoff/88090/57).
