We paid lots of $$$ for Sonoff equipment…

Then we paid lots of $$$ for Sonoff iHost

But this device don’t have backup option.

I run around 50 scenes on it today.

My only option to backup them is to make screenshots of each scene.

This is a joke !!!

Sonoff… WE DEMAND PROPER BACKUP OPTION for iHost

I’m curious how many votes this idea will get!

Please.
backup of scenes created in ihost.

If a complete backup/restore function is complicated, as has been commented various times, meanwhile at least a way of saving scenes is necessary if users want to use the iHost with confidence.
Is there no way that scenes could be exported (JSON format?) and saved?

This is the problem that arrived together with the first iHost on Earth. Is there any sense in bringing back the backup question again and again? The eWeLink team expressed its point of view numerous times. Most [recently](https://forum.ewelink.cc/t/ihost-backup-function/16662/41) about two days ago:

> We are still exploring and trying to find a good solution for backups, but for now, it’s not ready.

You need to be patient and wait or switch to HA and make backups as often as you wish.

I think you should go and pay for something else if you’re not entirely satisfied. I did.

Can you suggest other option to replace iHost / NSPanel Pro?

I bought the NSPanel, but it’s a rubbish…
Then I added iHost, it also has some bugs that annoy me.

I guess they should make this software open source and leave to the community to fix all these issues.

As customers… we should keep pushing pressure on developers.

I like iHost… just my current backup option (print screens of each 50 scenes)

is… rubbish 😉

I have iHost, multiple NSPanel Pro, ZigBee Bridge U… the software is not perfect.

But I see problems being solved and functionality is slowly being improved.

Just recent iHost update allowed to sync ZigBee devices connected to ZigBee Bridge U.

Hope that at least some primitive form of backup will happen for scenes.

The easiest way to circumvent this limitation until it is implemented would be to use the Node Red for your automations. and with that it creates a stream of Beckup.
At least what I do. I must have simple scenes straight on iHost the complex ones are all on the node-red

Thank you.

Simple part backup (scenes only) will do as a starter.

Browsed over this a few days ago and didn’t pay much attention. Then attempted to upgrade my ihost to newer release. It never came back online. I lost all my scenes. I recreated everything in ewelink for now trying to decide if it is even worth starting over with ihost.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

That’s a severe issue, can you provide more information in a support ticket so we can avoid such issue in future releases? Many thx!

So it was a major inconvenience to rebuild everything in ihost after deleting it because it did not come back online in ewelink app.

Turns out this was planned but not published in the release materials.

Release material should have stated it would show offline in ewelink after the upgrade and to just delete the ihost device from ewelink.

If you create scenes on the iHost using Node Red they can be saved and it is much more powerful. It’s quite rare that scenes need to created natively.

</div>

Agreed, I do that with Node-red in the same way.
But there are many examples of simple routines that are just too tedious to create in Node-red. I have many like that in Smartthings, over 120 - I wouldn’t think of changing those to iHost unless I had some form of backup.

I moved all my scenes to Node Red over a couple of weeks except one. The Zigbee plug turning my internet router back on seemed to work better on the iHost itself. Creating which type of scene is quicker on the iHost - I may have discovered a quicker way in those two weeks of replicating scenes.

Of course it can be done in node-red. But not every user wants or can use node-red.
Ihost as a local device should allow for basic automation copies.
