DIN-Rail Multi-I/O Controller for Wired Smart Homes

Hello Everyone,

I’ve been looking at the current SONOFF product lineup and thinking about what could make SONOFF even more attractive for wired home automation installations. I’m particularly thinking about installations where everything is centralized in the electrical panel, while the wall switches are simply push buttons wired back to a central controller. In my opinion, the 4CHPROR3 already has many of the right foundations for this type of installation, but I believe there is a great opportunity to take the concept much further.

Imagine an upgraded 4CHPROR3 with:

• 8 or 16 relay outputs
• 8 or 16 digital inputs for push buttons or switches
• RS485 / Modbus RTU
• Ethernet + Wi-Fi
• Zigbee
• MQTT + a fully documented local API
• Full Home Assistant integration
• Local automation and logic that works even without Internet or cloud
• Configurable interlock for roller shutters, blinds, motors, etc.

The 4CHPROR3 already has many of the right ideas: DIN-rail mounting, 4 relays, dry contacts, RF control, LAN control, self-locking, interlock and inching modes.

Why not make a “4CHPROR4” or “SONOFF DIN Multi-I/O Controller” that turns this into a real wired home automation/PLC-style controller?

This could be an amazing product for both new construction and renovation projects, especially for users who want SONOFF + Home Assistant while keeping their installation local, reliable and flexible.

Please consider it for a future product!
