# Can iHost be a Thread border router?

Can iHost be a Thread border router? If yes it could, is there any plan to make the iHost be a Thread border router?

It’s in research and should come with the Matter Hub feature if everything goes well. However, it won’t arrive that soon.

😞Thanks for your reply. Do you think the OpenThread OTBR Docker container ([Uruchom Dockera OTBR &nbsp;|&nbsp; OpenThread](https://openthread.io/guides/border-router/docker/run)) could be configured to work on the iHost? Or is there a limitation on accessing the thread radio?

It is possible with an extra dongle. I walked through that guide once before, and the startup argument is way too complex. 😅 I didn’t get it to work, but maybe some pro users can.
