I will be posting interesting projects that I have created on this forum. I will go to the first project, the customer wanted to create an automatic watering system for the garden.

I looked at control units like Hunter. Expensive devices but without any intelligent functions.

I bought valves, fittings, 5x sonoff swv-bsp, 2x snzb-05p. I have a customer iHost control unit.

> The facilities are located in a garden house.

**For the sake of interest, the connection at the very top is used to connect the compressor. So that it is possible to comfortably blow water out of the pipe. So that the pipe does not burst in the winter**.

One SNZB-05P sensor is placed next to the pipes and the cable is wrapped around it so that it detects any leaks in the pipes.

The last SNZB-05P sensor is placed under the roof and the cable is brought out of the roof and wrapped around a plastic holder. The purpose of this construction is to determine if it is raining.

Scene settings:

Every other day, it turns on the irrigation shortly after sunrise. Each valve is in automatic mode, where it is set to 25 liter. When it starts to rain, Tal turns off the irrigation for half a day.

You must be careful to have the optimal number of valves turned on at once, otherwise there is a risk that the water pressure will not be strong enough.

I used MPP rotators from Hunter.

Does this get any false alarms with condensation or accumulated humidity? Very interested in this as I’ve tried several solutions here but never really found a perfect rain sensor - might try your idea.

Hi, I didn’t notice any false alarms even though I checked the records. In my opinion it cannot detect dew or condensation. Because when it rained very lightly (like fog), it could not detect that it was raining.

I had to set a scene so that when it rained, it would turn off the irrigation for 8 hours. Since shortly after the rain it already reported that it wasn’t raining and it was necessary to block the irrigation for 8 hours.

I found that it is necessary to use the white cable for optimal optimal results.

That must be the key to the question. Thanks

Please, can you take a screenshot of iHost for automation, 8 hour delay?
Thanks

I was considering Sonoff 4CH PRO and for an electric valve for irrigation.
I am also testing Sonoff snzb-05p into a service hole for rainwater drainage. But it is very sensitive. I will change it to a cable. Thanks

Do you have any issues mounting the valves on their side? I read they should ideally be mounted upright. I had to install one the weekend and alternative mounting would make things a bit easier….

That is a very neat setup!

I thought about using those, but I got the RainPoint 8 zone controller instead. It uses it’s own app unfortunately, but luckily it’s a solid app.

I am using sonoff to controller the well and irrigation pumps with a system of relays, etc. So that’s how I got the two ecosystems to engage.

They already told me that if they had known sooner that I was doing this, they wouldn’t have bought Hunter irrigation.
